Great location, lovely friendly people

Only issue is toilet location I'm 6' tall and couldn't stand at toilet as was under stairs

The pillows were not good and the bathroom was a little dirty.

Everything was fine, nice location.

Shower had good water pressure. Parking outside free from 6pm.

I am normally a glass half full person but I really felt let down by this property. I was also confused by all the other great ratings on Booking.com despite reviewers mentioning some of the issues below. There were no instructions provided for arrival. Wasted time panicking waiting for host response after evening arrival into Reykjavik. 2 rooms but one room is tiny with 2 single beds that can only be accessed by walking through main bedroom. The single beds were situated near radiators where you could potentially hit your head during sleep. Pillows were like small sofa cushions. Tiny bathroom. Not allowed to use washing machines after 8pm, which is not great at all if you are on a road trip. Now all this would be tolerated but considering I paid almost AUD900 for a night, you can understand my disappointment. A 1/3 of cost was charged outside Booking.com on arrival as a host ?cleaning fee.

The location was great, walking distance to all the Reykjavik attractions. The first day we didn't even use the rental car. You have to walk though the main bedroom to get to the kids bedroom, so it is not private. There were plenty of utensils to cook with. I easily made breakfast. There were plenty of great dinner options near by. The hosts live onsite. The main door gains access to 3 units including the host's upstairs. The hot tubs is filled on request so planning is required, and they want to empty it by 2000, so getting back to use it sometimes felt rushed. There is a washing machine that had a note not to use it after 2000, also pretty early for a family spending the day out doing activities. I did ended up doing laundry in the morning. The cycle was fast enough that i could do a load while making breakfast, and another one before leaving for the day, and drying it when we returned in the evening. There is an outdoor cloths line to use, and an indoor drying rack. things dried pretty quickly near the radiator. The toilet has low head clearance, and was uncomfortable for my tall husband to use. There are nice throw blankets and plenty of towels to shower with. We brought bathrobes and towels for the hot tub. The 4 of us stayed 3 nights, the kids are 8 and 11. The fees (that I didn't notice when booking) were about $200. They don't use a linen service, so that would be a lot of laundry between guests. Some of the closets were locked, but we put out luggage under the kid's beds, and were able to unpack our cloths into draws in the kid's room and hang up our coats. There was sealed food, soap, feminine hygiene products and other things left by past guests, which is nice if you didn't have have your own. Everything was clean. The code to the lock box wasn't in the arrival instructions, but the host met us at the door within probably 10 minutes of me messaging them. The location was the best feature of this place.

Perfect location, convenient to walk to shops and restaurants and explore town. Street parking was easy with the Parka app. The apartment was especially clean and well organized for our family. We loved the style of the unit as well. Hosts were kind and welcoming and available when needed. We loved the hot tub after a long day trip to Vik. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for the hospitality.

This place was perfect for our family of four. By far the most economical of all the accommodations I looked at. Some things I think are worthy of pointing out: - Amazing location. Just about everything was a 7-minute walk. Perfect for exploring Reykjavik while also providing more peace and quiet. Side note: There's a cat cafe and great Indian restaurant down the street. Reykjavik Pizza was also delicious. Kronán is the nearest supermarket and about two blocks away. Very convenient. - Awesome shower. The water pressure and hot water were perfect. I didn't want to get out. This probably seems weird to highlight, but I've been places where the shower was awful and disappointing. I'm a big fan of showers, especially after a day of long, cold hiking. - Comfy beds. I have a very bad lower back, and just about every place I've stayed has a bed that practically leaves me paralyzed or otherwise in pain. Quite the damper on my trips. This bed, though, oh my. Absolutely no pain. I slept very soundly. - Clean aesthetic. Very Nordic feeling, which I love. I hate clutter. - Lovely owners. Very unobtrusive, but they're right upstairs if you need them. The owner gave us some lovely trinkets and Icelandic popsicles, and he was gracious enough to let us stick around the apartment before we left, as our taxi wasn't arriving till after checkout. I noticed some issues raised in older reviews but many of the same issues didn't exist by the time we stayed. So this suggests that the hosts take note and address them, which is great. We had an amazing stay and hope to visit again in the near future.
