We had a wonderful week at the Old Ferryhouse. Of all the many cottages I've stayed in over the years of visiting Port Appin, this was the absolute best for location - incredible to be right on the shore, and also in the heart of the village. The kids loved playing on the shore and paddle boarding in the bay. The sun room overlooking the shore was such a lovely space; that view! We had a great stay - spacious bedrooms, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, plenty of hot water. We also really appreciated all the books and games.

We really liked everything! Tiny points would be that we had to ask for help locating the full set of keys once we were inside. I looked back but I don't think the info for their hiding place had been given. Also, it isn't easy to find the glass recycling centre (tucked away down a side road near the Old Inn) so would be useful to add that in to the otherwise v useful guide.

"We loved the location and the village. A great spot to explore from."

The bed was comfortable; the shower was good although an over the bath type. The location is stunning.

The lounge furniture is elderly low to the floor, not very comfortable for the older traveller. The sun lounge furniture is similarly past its best. Although the dining table and chairs are fine. The kitchen is provided with the basics. The extensive pdf on how to take care of the property was at odds with the out of date paper copy provided at the property. This needs updating.

"Beautiful, refreshing and homely."

The property was absolutely made by its location and stunning view, but we also found the beds very comfortable and enjoyed the cosy fire, and little comfort details like the electric blankets on the bed and the electric heater in the bathroom. We also found out host very helpful. It felt homely, practical and relaxed all the time.

The furniture in the sun room wasn't as comfortable and the table quite wobbly - but really I'm picking things out here.
