Driftwood Cottage

Relaxed site, great location.

All was good.

Lovely cottage, perfect for exploring the area. Great onsite walks for dogs and cottage was well equipped.

Shower was a little small but that was the only issue.

We really loved this little getaway…the cottage was very clean, comfortable and in a great location. Perfect for a break in St Ives.

Driftwood Cottage belongs to John Fowler Holiday and Trailer Park, perfectly delivering 70's charme. It is tiny for 4 people, at least the small double bed needs a new matress. But the real problem: It was incredibly dirty. Thick cobwebs besides every single cupboard and almost every corner of every room. Thick dust inside the cupboards (some of which were partially broken), really dirty windows, thick dirt in the bathroom floor corners, a filthy oven, dirty dishes, one glass with thick red lipstick on it... The owner organized an extra shift of the cleaners, but absolutely nothing did improve. We left this place 1 day earlier than booked, at least the "cleaning" fee was refunded. I can't remember a vacation home I found as dirty as Driftwood Cottage...

L'alloggio gode di una posizione fantastica immersa in un parco enorme con diversi sentieri da esplorare ed è arredato con gusto, ma gli aspetti positivi si fermano qui.

Le camere da letto sono piccole e non esattamente corrispondenti, nell'organizzazione degli spazi, alle foto di presentazione. Il forte odore di umidità ci ha accompagnato per tutto il tempo, la pulizia generale era insufficiente e prima di utilizzare le stoviglie c'è stato bisogno di lavare le stesse a fondo.

Die Wohnung hat alles, was man braucht und ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet.. Es ist sehr ruhig und die Nachbarschaft ist angenehm. Das Waldgrundstück, in dem der Bungalow steht, ist sehr schön. St.Yves ist wunderschön.

Das Appartement ist ein kleiner Bungalow in einem Ferienpark etwa 15 min mit dem Auto von St Yves entfernt. Man braucht unbedingt ein Auto, da die hinführende Straße sehr befahren ist und keinen Fußweg hat. Eine Wanderung ab Unterkunft in den Ort ist nicht gefahrlos möglich. Es gibt einen Linienbus, der aber eher selten fährt. Man kann aber sagen, es funktioniert alles auch ohne Auto, wenn man Taxi und Busse nutzt und sich zeitlich dem Angebot anpasst.

The cottage is in a very good location with everything in reasonable travel distances. Lovely beaches, shops and attractions on the doorstep. The DVD selection in the cottage was excellent. WiFi was quick. The cottage had everything we needed and a well equipped kitchen.

We arrived to a filthy cottage. Cobwebs, spiders, dust, fleas, the oven hadn't been cleaned. I had to go round and clean it before my young children could play in it. Pulling the blanket off the sofa, I foubd lots of sand and dog hair the cleaner hadnt bothered to hoover up. Albeit we arrived an hour before check in but the premises was locked up and cleaner had been. They left dirty linen behind and the fridge freezer wasn't usable as the door wouldn't shut due to the freezer needing defrosting. I communicated this to the host, someone came to sort the freezer, unplugged it and said she'd be back at 6.30 to properly defrost and sort. She was never seen again. We left it until the next day but it started to smell so we just did it ourselves. I asked the host to send a cleaner in, the response was pants and no one came nor did I get an update from the host. Monday another cleaner came and said her daughter provides the cleaning service, and she came a couple of days earlier to clean but we had our curtains closed so she didn't knock as she didn't want to disturb the baby, really poor excuse if you ask me. My 5 month old baby was laying on the sofa when I looked down at him he had a flea on his forehead!! The whole cottage is very damp and musty smelling. The shower is tiny. The bed needs a mattress desperately. You have to pay to use to the facilities at the holiday park (£36 for 4 of us).. the pool is freezing, they said they're aware it's cold as their boiler is on the blink. Most certainly not worth the money we paid for our 5 day stay. We left a day earlier. Had we not have been out most of the time and in the perfect location, we would have been leaving.

The place is beautiful, and the location is safe ,secure, and central to most beaches . There is plenty of parking The on call was quick to answer our call and spoke to us nicely.

There were layers of dust under the single beds. These can easily be lifted up to clean under if the cleaner wants to.

Quite area and the woodland walks where great. Nice little gem for children and the hidden playground as you walk along.

The double bed mattress could do with a change..it was very soft and the freezer can definitely do with a defrost.
