Hengar Manor Apartments

A weird place that was frankly awful but with the nicest friendliest most helpful staff. Really lovely people. We stayed in an apartment in a big old manor house that has been sectioned out into units. Bed was comfy. Pets allowed, which added to the ambience. I met a couple of lovely dogs as I was eating dinner. We were surprised at how quickly the bar cleared out as all the clientele decamped to the "showroom" for bingo, followed by lounge singer Callum Flew who strangled Tom Jones greatest hits and croaked through Frank Sinatra's back catalogue.

When you booked the stately home but got the caravan park. We booked this by mistake, I wish I had read the reviews. We just needed a single nights stay. It is a budget holiday park. Apartment smelled damp but looked clean-ish, don't look too closely is my advice. Bathroom was grotty and tired out. A jaded bar/restaurant with a sticky carpet, sticky tables, pub classics menu, & limited range of beers, tells you all you need to know.

Good amount of space. Pleasant surprise to find there were family activities on site.

No towels in rooms and no mention on the booking or emails that towels were not provided. No towels were offered to us as the reception was closed and had to go to the bar where the bar staff were dismissive of our request for some towels.

Peaceful setting and lovely clean tidy site. Friendly staff and comfy facilities.

Property is beautiful, lovely grounds and lots to do.

No soap, towels, t.towels, Shower mat. I would think since Covid, soap and a towel should be provided in the bathroom! The property should be left as it’s found but with no t.towels how are we supposed to dry the pots?? Other than that it was lovely

The kitchen in the bar was closed. I spoke with reception in the late afternoon and they did not inform us that there was no hot food available on site. There were no towels in the apartment and the evening staff did not have access to any. The kitchen in the apartment is very basic. No cleaning cloth or tea towel supplied. The television has no signal.

Grand old Manor house, set in a quiet country area attached to a caravan holiday park. There is a laundry at the Manor house with industrial washers and dryers, plus a bar and restaurant

Rooms are very sparsely furnished and no towels provided.
