Beautiful Sea View 2 Bed Home

The sea views from the apartment are indeed beautiful. BUT the approach is somewhat daunting – the outside appearance is very run down and there are a lot of steps to reach the front door. It is a shame because the apartment could be lovely but the owner needs to do a real overhaul on it. The kitchen is very sparsely equipped – there were several knives but only a couple of spoons & forks and hardly any pots & pans. You couldn’t stay there and hope to do any self catering. The shower didn’t work properly and there were no towels. O.K., there are no towels listed in the description, but everywhere else we stayed they had towels. Everything was rather dilapidated. And there were sheets in the washing machine when we arrived which suggested that the cleaning people had forgotten them there. And it wasn’t easy getting access. The host gave us 3 different codes. We managed in the end but it was a question of trial and error. So improvements need to be made because it is in a fantastic position.

If all you are interested is the view, then you are in the right place; however, that is the only positive thing I can say about the apartment. The furnishings showed up very well in the listing pictures it is true; but the kitchen was poorly furnished--only one fork and only a serving spoon with which to eat, no frying pan of any kind, We could only get cold water out of the bathroom sink. Did not take a shower there because host advised that they did not furnish towels. Who wants to stay somewhere for two days & nights without even a towel to dry hands. Must climb 44 concrete steps to reach front door. Front and back yards are overgrown and littered. Discarded broken chair was outside in the weeds by the entry door. We were so uncomfortable there, we booked another place to stay after only one night and should have left the first night. There were reviews on VRBO for this same property which were more accurate than those shown on Booking.com. Am surprised that this property was listed here. Obviously, no outside photos were submitted.

The flat was not clean. The washing machine was left full, left over food left in the fridge. The beds had no pillowcases there was a used towel left hanging over the bedroom door. The shower wasn’t useable it was hanging off the wall. The flat smelt like stale cigarettes. The exterior is badly neglected. The photos provided for the booking of this flat are not a true reflection at all.

It looked like a lot of effort and thought had gone into decorating the property but unfortunately it hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived so our stay was very unpleasant. There wasn’t fresh bedding and we had to sweep the floors before the children could safely play. The owner did give us a partial refund after contacting them.

Place was quite dirty, wanted to have a shower but was cracked and looked unsafe. Huge amount of steps leading up to the property which isn’t mentioned. Wanted to hang up clothes but wardrobes were stuffed with rubbish

You house is located in a run down council estate in Port Glasgow. The exterior of the house is in poor condition and the doorway was littered with cigarette butts. The window frames and bathroom were covered in mould and all the windows were opened with air freshener sprayed to mask the disgusting smell of the property on arrival. This property wasn't safe or clean enough for a young family to stay there so we booked elsewhere and refused a refund
