The only thing we can suggest is having 2 keys. As we had 2 16 year olds with us they wanted to go off to the arcades while we strolled.

Position.

Constant smell of cigarette smoke from the flat below. Extremely noisy and uneven floor in the property. Dirty and unclean on stairs leading upstairs.

It is not luxury. What it is is cheap, clean, in a great location and with decent amenities. If you are coming on a special or romantic holiday, this is not the place for you, but if you want a cheap base to explore it is great! I would return for the price.

It is rough around the edges in terms of decor. The only other thing I didn't like was that the key to the main door was also the key to the apartment, which meant all the guests in the other apartments could get into our apartment. Didn't feel secure for that reason. We pushed a chair up against the door.

would have been good to have received the lockbox code without needing to make a phone call.

Bed was comfy and room was pitch dark so sleeping was good. Fridge and microwave appeared to be very new. Good wifi.

Radiators were all on upon arrival at The Wine Vault so as there were no windows (as Booking lump all the flats in one ad so you may not get the one you liked from the photos) it took hours to cool down to a bearable temperature. The shower cubicle door doesn't shut fully and the cubicle itself needs a mat or grips. The front door was insecure due to one bolt just being held in place by paper. The rubbish bin only stays shut because the food bin is on top of it. The bedside light didn't work & hadn't been PAT inspected for two years. The TV picks up no terrestrial signals and was showing options from a month ago so doesn't appear to update properly via the Internet either. The loo roll holder is just about off the wall and no use. The sink in the kitchen area is tiny and as there's no draining board the wood surface is going to be damaged.

Was a great central location. Nice big fluffy bath towels, which actually cover you! Good powerful shower.

Noise from the street when in the main bedroom, and noise from the boiler/water tank? clicking into action every 5 minutes through the night in the twin room. The double bed was 2 beds pushed together. On the first night I slept on the one by the window but I ended up rolling to the centre, as the mattress was old. Pillows need replacing - really flat. There was a cupboard door hanging off under the oven. Really dirty oven. No tea towel. Bowls, glasses and cutlery were really grubby. Had to wash them before using. Weird layout, fridge was next to the bathroom, so was quite annoying when trying to cook. No low lighting in the lounge, only a really bright main light. Had to bring a bedside lamp from the bedroom.
