Edgar is such a great guy who made sure that we have a perfect stay from the very first second! The accommodation is located in a pretty calm area. It was very pretty, very clean!

Very nice and clean apartment and very helpfull owner, always responding for any request. Best location in Puerto Viejo, it's close to city center but far enough, so you won't hear any noise at night. Just across the street you have beautifull playa Negra. Definitely would stay again, highly recommended.

We were happy with Sibo House and the area. The Host Edgar made our stay even better-Willing to help us out with every little thing we asked and gave us great advice and recommendations. That really turns a good stay into a great one. The apartment has AC in the bedroom that easily cools the whole place due to the open concept. A ceiling fan in the bedroom also. Room had Plenty of space to put your clothes and luggage. A small fridge, Two burners ,coffee maker and a blender in the kitchen. Bathroom had good pressure and hot water. Towels provided and changed every 3 nights (sheets too if desired) as well as a cleaning offered. Outside shower for washing off sand and dirt. Wildlife seen and heard around the property that is nicely landscaped. We didn’t have any issues with noise even though the Main Street is a minute walk away at the end of the cute quiet gravel road that Sibo House is on- not a through street, just seemed to me to be a hub for mainly rental properties, hotels and expat homes. Parking spot and the whole property is gated. The black sand beach playa Negra is at the end of the street, probably took us 2 minutes to be from our door to the sand. There is a convenience grocery store with basics 5 min walk, and although we didn’t walk to town it would take you about 15 minutes. There you’ll find restaurants for every meal, larger supermarkets, souvenirs, etc. Driving north or south to attractions will take you 15-30 minutes (excluding construction traffic on several bridges leading into and out of Puerto Viejo which is taking place currently (July 2024)

We are partial to having a microwave or toaster oven in the kitchen. Just makes it easier when you’re beat from a day of hiking, swimming etc to get a little meal done quickly. I think it would be a nice addition. Since it’s an open space from the bedroom to the living area, the light from the sliding doors is visible and you might be awakened if you are super sensitive to light in the morning (sun rise is around 5:30) Neither of these things would stop me from staying again. If you’re staying for an extended period I would work out arrangements for your personal laundry ahead of time, it can be pricey in town to have it done for you.

I liked the location and the apartment, it is nice and cozy. Also the closet has enough space and the kitchen has what we needed.

I didn't like that it doesn't have A/C or enough fans, it is really hot right now, so we had to be moving the fan to the kitchen, living room and room, not ideal. Also the trash can on the kitchen is very small for a 4-days-stay and we couldn't find any garbage bags to put in the recycling stuff.

It was clean and safe and a good location. Shower was good. Great to have a decent fan in bedroom and kitchen/sitting room as no air on. Very reasonable price, you get what you pay for.

Very basic equipment in the kitchen. Probably if you don’t want to cook anything. Only x2 very small cups, fine if you only want espresso. No hot water in the kitchen sink to clean dishes properly., had to heat water in a pan and no plug in the sink to save water so washed up in the saucepan. Bed not too comfy and made up with nylon sheets, which is not great when it’s hot and humid. Only one bedside lamp.
