Windsor Cottage on The Big "W" Ranch

Beautiful location quiet and property was equipped with everything you would need for a few nights stay, it’s in a rural setting and we were lucky that the weather was warm and sunny and after a full day exploring it was nice to sit out on the picnic benches having a refreshing drink! The roads up to the property and surrounding areas are quite tight so caution is needed.

Bare minimum crockery and cutlery. Bathroom could do with a makeover looking at the joints in the wall panels and ceiling which are quite mouldy, the oven was dirty and the microwave slightly rusty! Couldn’t work out the dishwasher!? could do with some antibacterial cleaning wipes or kitchen cleaning spray in the under sink cupboard as currently nothing to wipe clean surfaces! The village of wasdale where the pub is was quite far away so a car would be needed and nothing by the way of amenities in walking distance so a car is essential.

Fantastic location

Beautiful setting, stunning views and wildlife. Gorgeous apartment, v comfy beds. Highly recommend a visit. We will be booking again at some point.

Just missing a wardrobe.

The location is really isolated up a narrow drive and a long way from civilization. The room is spacious, comfortable beds, good kitchen facilities and very high quality and interesting decor. Good views. Wifi worked well. Great TV (we used Netflix which worked well with just occasional glitches). Very clean and well appointed in every way.

The information given us was mostly telling us what not to do (no shoes, no vaping etc.) which I know is necessary, but it would be better balanced by more info on local trails, pub opening hours etc which I find in most places to stay.

The views

Lacking kitchen utensils, no iron or ironing board, Couldn't watch anything on TV due to poor internet connection, party underneath us was up till late at night, £200 a night I think is too much for this property

The setting was amazing, with beautiful views. Accommodation with lovely, comfy and spacious. We really liked the little touches of a coffee machine, tea and coffee available.

We couldn't find any faults.

The area where the cottage is situated is breathtaking. Does not feel like the uk I never knew somewhere so beautiful even existed, photos don't do it justice. Cottage is in a nice quiet area spacious and easy to get to viewpoints. Cottage itself was very spacious for a couple, I loved the smell of body wash, hand wash and washing up liquid It was so fresh and unusual was pleasing. Bathroom great shower hot. Kitchen big with lots of utensils to use. Contact less check in with easy to follow instructions.

Heating is on a timer so sometimes can be cold. However, we came prepared with blankets. Would not be an issue in summer time though.
