The Roundhouse

Lovely quiet, welcoming and warm property with an exceptionally happy and helpful host. Lots of little attention to detail that really made the stay exceptional. Good location to explore the local area and very quiet and peaceful to relax at.

Nothing, it was above and beyond our expectations.

A beautifully finished, furnished and decorated property. Everything you need is provided for and then some. Excellently located and positioned to see the sun set, great views of the Firth , and to watch the birds. Although we did not meet the owner, she was always easy to contact by text, pleasant to deal with and provided delicious cake for our arrival!

A wee bit noise from the traffic which we noticed to begin with, but it faded into the background as we settled in and got used to our surroundings.

This place is really unique, great area, great accommodation. Just a lovely getaway location with lots of nice walks a short distance away. Some lovely touches such as the cake, really well thought out. We had a great stay. Lots to do around the area if you're active too. The sky was an unexpected treat at night.

It was unique accommodation - eco friendly but very comfortable with many thoughtful touches. Lovely welcome and great comms with owner. Fantastic views of the Scottish Rivera and wonderful wildlife to look at (birds, bunnies and a weasel) as well as watching the weather. It was incredibly relaxing - whatever the weather. We had thought it was expensive for the facilities (the kitchen is fairly limited) but it was worth every penny as it’s such a special experience. There are so many things to do/see in this area, castles, walks, exploring generally.

It overlooks the A75 so it is possible to hear road noise (although we are quite sensitive to this). You would hear it if you sat outside (it was too cold/wet to do this when we stayed)- however this would not put us off booking again as it was very special.

Liked the private location, the unique round architecture , spaciousness inside and sea view.

This was my location to stay so I could sample local mountain biking sites. As a single traveler this was perfect, three biking locations all within easy driving distance. Newton Stewart close for provisions, eating out within walking distance if required…check timings. When on site the place has a relaxing feel about it.
