Papaya 15 Apartments

Great location. Very short walk to Walmart and the beach. Restaurants everywhere. Also adjacent to the central town square where they had a night market and entertainment going on. Unit was large and clean. Loved the roof top pool. Management was very responsive to a request for more drinking water.

The storm blinds were a bit tough to operate and the appliances were ‘builders specs’ lol, but they did the job.

The property is in a prime location. Just steps away from the square and many restaurants, bars and markets, and a ten minute walk from the beach, it was convenient for enjoying the town. The private pool deck was a lovely amenity, however there are no longer grills available for guest use (as previously advertised.)

We did have a few issues with our unit (broken laundry closet door and air conditioning unit out of order) but upon contacting the management company they had them taken care of. One ongoing issue was the traffic noise in the unit. Although our confirmation email and check in details mentioned a garden view room and two bathrooms - one with a tub, our room had neither. The apartment is located on a very busy street and the constant street noise from early morning throughout the night was horrible as was the constant light from the hallway. Our unit also did not have a tub as listed. The unit was also close to the elevator and across from the stairs which usually wouldn’t be an issue but due to the construction of the rooms having a glass partition to finish the wall, light from not only the living room but also from the shared entry hallway (which goes on any time someone entered the building) brightens the entire unit. The same goes for the bathrooms. No room is fully enclosed so if you are an early riser and your travel companion is not, don’t plan to turn any lights on without distributing them. Bring ear plugs and an eye mask, or stay elsewhere. The most disturbing thing was having the cleaning crew enter the unit at nearly 8am on our day of departure - unannounced, and unauthorized - when our checkout time was not until 11. For the amount we paid, I expected a better experience.

Bad water pressure :(

Spacious Apartment, Amazing Rooftop Pool, close to the ADO bus terminal, close to great food, bars and restaurants. The air conditioning was a life saver given the humidity! The apartment came with parking which was great, as we decided to hire a car halfway through our stay - communication with the host was fantastic.

The room that we booked online was not a ground floor apartment, so we were surprised when the apartment was on the ground floor. This was not a big deal but not what we were expecting.

Location was central, not far from the bus station and the beach and the original downtown area where you can find more affordable food and lodging. I had to call management a few times and they responded right away, spoke fluently and took care of my needs. Kitchen has all you need for cooking and meals and then some, very modern appliances.

We are a little spoiled and miss american TV channels and news. We did get Netflix which had a some decent shows which we only watch at night anyway so all was good.

Close to everything we needed. Very clean and quiet apartment, fully stocked with all the amenities we needed. The owner always responded promptly to any questions we had. A plumbing leak under the bathroom sink that were found was fixed the same day.

Nothing. Everything was perfect!

Location and cleanliness

La Papaya is a great place for its price. Location is perfect (3 minutes form the 5th street) and it was not as noizy as in the center. Appartments are really big, 2 bathrooms, large balcony, kitchen and living room. It had all the stuff, i. e. microwave, dishwasher, washing and drying machines, 2 ACs, TV, hairdryer, plenty of towels, water, etc, so we did not have to buy anything. It also has an underground parking space and amazing gym.

The only 3 things that we did not like (but the are not critical): - Cleaning is not included (but you can pay for it) - There were some short term problems with AC and the internet - The street was a bit busy with cars at night and it was quite noisy to sleep but we got used to it
