Casa Kay

The property has a 3 story building that only has 3 rooms right on the beach. Each room has a balcony overlooking the beach. The views are amazing of the sunrise, and it's a great place to relax and watch the surf and the pelicans flying past. There is one other room that doesn't have an ocean view. I highly recommend getting one of the ocean view rooms. The room was not large, but definitely enough for 2 people. It was very clean and has all the essential items. Drinking water is provided. The caretaker Enrique was always available to answer questions, and he brought me a fresh coconut water and a boogie board. One thing to note, he doesn't speak English, but if there is something important he will call Ana who was also very helpful. This all relates to my experience of getting up one morning to find my car battery was dead. The nearest grocery stores and restaurants are in Puerto Morelos which is 15-20 minute drive north. It is best to shop before arriving so you have food, drinks and snacks with you.

Nice private beach

We had unpleasant situation not related to the hotel, but as a result we lost one night in the hotel. We were close to lost even one more cause the host was not really flexible if it comes to the checkin time. I said to the lady that we have a problem with our car and might not be able to checkin before 10 pm. She said if we not manage to checkin before 10 pm we can checkin after 8 am the next day. We were very stressed if we manage to make it. On the checkout she said we can leave the keys on the table and leave the property open. I guess we could do checkin in the same way, only some good will was needed. Update after the owner's response: I know what is the checkin policy, but like I told you earlier, we had extraordinary situation with our car, which nobody could predict. I just asked about some flexibility and your answer was that if we don't make it before 10pm we can start looking for other property for the night. Very helpful...

Everything. This place is paradise. We booked the room overlooking the sea. Quiet place, very peaceful. The apartment had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. All amenities available. Ana was very responsive all the time, and Enrique who works at the property made sure we were always enjoying the place. Hammocks, pool, beach towels, lounges, all is in clean and available. It's part of a hard community so that have us a sense of safety too. Huge comfortable king bed. Great place to get away from the noise and enjoy peace and quiet. ¡Gracias por todo! I REALLY recommend this place if you want to enjoy a sandy beach, quiet atmosphere, and fantastic hosts.

The water pressure was not very strong in the bathroom. I enjoy dim lights at night and the yard was lit very bright at night. Still, very minor details that did not affect our stay. If you're thinking about staying here, just go ahead and book it, you won't regret it.

Our Host Ana was outstanding, very helpful with information and anything that we needed during our stay. We will definitely be staying at Casa Kay again! Also, Enrique took great care of us too!
