Ocean View Paradise!

What an incredible stay! Awesome host who helped us find good restaurants and made sure we had a great trip. The location is excellent for getting away from the crowds and is near some cool towns, as well as Volcano NP. Would absolutely stay here again.

STAY AWAY. He threatened not to return our security deposit unless we leave a 10 star review right there and then. Host is certainly cheating and misrepresenting as he did not post pictures of the real kitchen and shower for a two bedroom apartment. 1) What he calls a two bedroom apartment is an extension of his garage in which he has made two bedrooms wherein second bedroom's access is through the first bedroom. So there is no privacy at all. 2) There is no kitchen as he just put a small toaster and small table and chairs in his garage and calls it a kitchen. No stove, no pots and pans or utensils or a sink 2) For the sink to wash dishes, he showed the garden faucet, hose and a construction bucket outside of a garage wall 3) Shower stall is a makeshift flimsy tall cabin outside of the garage (what he calls a two bedroom apartment), you can only access it from outside and has no running hot water. He asked us to let the shower run for a minute but still we didn't get hot water. He insisted on leaving a credit card number as a security deposit but we were not comfortable so we agreed on handing him over $100 as a deposit. On the day of leaving he came in to do his inspection so we can get our $100 back. Upon entering he went straight to the inside bedroom and showed us a very faint stain on the bedsheet which was under the bed covers. He refused to return our deposit. Interesting part was that he did not count the towels or the coffee mugs or checked any other area of the place and went straight to that bedroom to show us the stain on the bedsheet. We had a flight to catch and the airport is an hour and half away from his 'paradise' it was such a stressful experience.

location good for exploring the southern part of Big Island. we had two rooms and our bathroom, kitchen and hallway is shared with the owners but they really try to make it seem like you're alone there..though if you need them they are very nice and helpful, rooms were clean, there was a terrace at our own disposal,nice having dinner outside. it has a country feel to it and a 1 min drive there is a great cafe place on the main road

Our stay coincided with the passage of Hurricane Hone. Lots of wind and rain, and a few hours without power, but we were so comfortable it was an adventure to enjoy. Spent much of the storm watching the weather from the protected deck.

Well - everything in Hawaii currently seems expensive, but that is substantially the product of an unfavourable $ exchange rate

Great location, very clean and felt private and safe. Host was friendly and very responsive chatting!
