Portobello Apartments

A very comfortable, spacious apartment on two levels, located in a quiet area. It is less than 10-15 minute walk to the Piazza Maggiore. The host was very warm and welcoming and was pleased to help out with taxi bookings. She spoke excellent English. There were a number of nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. We would especially recommend Zenzero, a vegetarian restaurant and Il Pirata del Porto, a pizzeria.

To start with - the host Serena was so warm and welcoming, easy to communicate with via Booking.com and Whatsapp and ensured any queries we had were answered. She also provided us with a list of fantastic recommendations for places to eat and sight seeing. Grazie mille Serena! The location is great - in a safe neighbourhood area (though I found Bologna to be very safe overall), walking distance from the central Bologna station and the old town, and close to supermarkets and good restaurants. The apartment itself was very spacious, clean and newly renovated with all essential amenities - kitchen, washing machine, fridge, coffee machine. The bed was very comfy and there were extra pillows and blankets if needed. There was airconditioning and heating but it was very insulated in the cooler early spring which was great. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Bologna and would come back again in the future. Grazie mille!

Serena’s property is a wonderful home away from home. Based on the ground floor of an apartment block in a quiet gated community, the apartment is immaculately clean and contains everything you need to feel right at home during your stay. The location is excellent, with only a 10 minute walk to the train station and 10 minutes to the main piazza. Serena, the host, is very warm and most helpful with all inquiries. She provider is recommendations for multiple restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the apartment and they were all excellent. Our only regret is not having more time in this wonderful apartment and city. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Bologna, we would highly recommend the Portobello Apartments.

We chose Portobello again this year after 2023. The location is excellent, close to the train station and the city centre. The hostess, Serena, is very kind and helpful, the rooms and kitchen are well equipped. There are all kinds of shops nearby: supermarket, clothes shop and bookshop. It would be hard to find a better apartment in Bologna! We recommend it to everyone with the best of hearts - five stars and ten points!

A fantastic place to stay in Bologna. Very modern, tons of space. It's on a quiet street, and there lots of things to do and see within a few minutes walk. Serena was great at showing us all the features of the apartment.

Such a wonderful stay at Portobello Apartments. Serena is an amazing and welcoming host and extremely helpful with excellent communication and provides a very professional service. The area is quiet, and the apartment is well located and is only a short walk to the main areas of Bologna like piazza Maggiore. There are multiple supermarkets and places to eat very close including the central station which is only a 10-minute easy walk from the apartment. The apartment is well appointed with lots of kitchen equipment and the rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and clean. The AC and Wi-Fi worked very well. We will definitely stay here again when we next visit Bologna. Thank you Serena for a making our stay a wonderful experience.

Serena! She was the best host: so friendly and helpful including great restaurant reservations. The apartment is spacious and fully equipped with cute Audrey Hepburn decor.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable and it was hard lugging our suitcases up and down the stairs but it wasn’t a big deal.
