Machine noises from the roof which made the sleep hard.

The flat itself is cosy in the way that good things are cosy, not small, just right. The location is the kind that makes you feel smarter for finding it. You walk outside and Ortigia is just there, as if it arranged itself for you personally. Everything worked. Everything was clean. The bed held us like it had opinions about rest and those opinions were correct. But the floor. The floor deserves its own paragraph, its own autobiography, possibly its own agent. Every morning I shuffled across it barefooted and thought: this is what it must feel like to be a dignified person.

Very comfortable, light and airy.

You need to switch electrics on with key.l, which is impossible to separate from entrance keys. So one person can’t stay in apartment unless they don’t need electric.
