"Home from home"

10.0

Fantastic, cosy studio in a great location. 0.8 miles from the beach/Central Pier perfect for long walks by the sea with our two Chihuahuas. There are numerous shops and takeaways nearby with a huge pub across the street that does reasonably priced meals. Jen, the host, was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the goodies left for us and breakfast items. Clean, comfortable and warm. We extended our stay and can't wait to visit again.

"Great location with a big comfortable king sized bed"

7.0

we loved the big king sized bed, had lots of space , very comfy and both my Husband and I had 3 great nights sleep. Good quality bedding. Loved the table and two chairs to eat our meals at, table mats and drink coasters provided. Not that it matters but we didn't realise the apartment was at the front of the property, it had its own little fenced in area with a large parasol, 2 lovely chairs and table. As it was all slabs, we always bring a bit of artificial grass for our dog to do her business on or she won't go toilet. Fantastic size room and good sized walk in shower with a choice of rain shower or hand held one. Plenty of good quality toilet rolls left for us along with shower toiletries. A very basic breakfast was provided cereals, porridge, pain aux raisins, milk, tea bags and sugar. Free parking outside the property which was great and only a short ride to all the shops, cafes, restaurants and the seafront. Liked the plug sockets as they had a usb port at the top of each socket. Microwave and top stove provided but we didn't use them. Great sized under counter fridge and freezer, fridge held a lot of cans of pop and kept them really cold.

The two high steps into the apartment, our dog forgot how steep they were in the middle of the night as the spot light wasn't on when she went toilet and it was dark, she went flying down them but fortunately she didn't hurt herself. No secure gate only a low wooden pallet provided to prop up to keep our dog in so we couldn't leave her in the garden in fear she would escape. Sadly, we didn't get to meet the host but communication before hand was excellent. Kitchen area :- no tea towel to dry the pots (we had to use a hand towel) no kitchen roll, the coffee jar had forgotten to be replenished and only had one coffee stick. Not consistent with the breakfast as some had orange juice and fruit and others like us did not. Fortunately, there is a Toby carvery nearby so we are out for breakfast on two occasions. I always use ice packs when we travel to keep drinks cold so I put them in the freezer to refreeze but the freezer needs defrosting as a big pile of ice had accumulated. The windowsill in the kitchen was dirty where the cutlery was kept. The plates were so big and chunky they wouldn't stand up in the drainer. There was a toaster in the cupboard but no bread provided which was a shame. No dog water bowl provided but fortunately we brought out own. I spilt a bit of water on the floor and when we wiped it up the floor was dirty. Bathroom:- The inside of the glass shower looked dirty so it put me off having a shower. also my Husband and I really disliked the glass sliding door into the bathroom/toilet as you could see through stripes of clear glass so you didn't feel very private. Had never seen a door like that before. Felt the cleaning was rushed. Finally,we heard a short argument from the inside of the hosts home as our apartment was attached with a door leading to their house. We felt very uncomfortable and then there was a loud band as their front door was slammed shut upon someone leaving the property in not a very good mood.
