Villa Bianca

Washing facilities and outdoor eating area was a lovely treat

The host Luisa was incredibly hospitable meeting us at the property. She drove us to the supermarket and was very generous with her time. The property is very clean and functional. Separate bedrooms accommodated our adult family of 5 with the kitchen extremely well appointed with utensils. The view across lake Como from the balcony ( we were in the higher villa) was breathtaking. There is an equally good view from the lower Villa… The town is within walking distance ( a somewhat challenging walk but manageable if you are happy for some exercise…Luisa is a very kind person and extremely responsive to any questions about the property.

The apt has the most amazing view of the lake and pictures don’t do it justice. There are multiple seating areas outside , a barbecue, everything we needed in kitchen , modern bathroom, upgraded doors and windows . The host even had a large bottle of water and juice for us ( only place we stayed in Italy that provided this) We were on second floor which was a two bedroom one room had a queen bed the other room had a queen bed plus trunk bed, so it could sleep six people! Our host Luisa was amazing, she picked us up at train station , and dropped us off when we were leaving. She also took us to the grocery store and gave us some great recommendations. We wish we had stayed here for a month instead of three days.

Just a few suggestions , it would be great to upgrade the towels to newer fluffier ones , they were just a bit rough. Also just plain hotel style white sheets would be great , our bed sheets ( fitted sheet) kept coming off ..nothing major at all For those with mobility issues the apartment is high up on a hill so if you want to go down to Varenna area you have to go on lots of steps. Going down is fine coming up as a bit of a challenge but there’s always a bus for a taxi you can take.

The kitchen and the bathroom had all the possible amenities that one could ask for in order to comfortably stay in the villa. The villa was clean and there was modern furniture. The best thing about this villa was the location as there is an amazing view of Lake Comp and Menaggio. There are also lots of seating available outside and a spacious balcony to enjoy the view.

A problem with this property is the way to get there. It is on top of a mountain so you have to drive up a narrow and winding road. I would advise to be careful while driving if you aren’t used to these road conditions.

The best part about the property is how helpful Louisa (manager) is. She picked us up from train station, dropped us off on our last day and also helped drive us for shopping. The property is well maintained, good laundry facilities and great view.

The hike from property to Varenna centre is quite a bit. Going down is all downhill so ok, but coming back to property from town centre is quite hard uphill climb.

The view is incredible. There are two apartments and we had both since we were a family of eight. Luisa was our host and she was the best. She picked us up at the train station and even took us to the little market to pick up groceries we needed. Everything was clean, washing machine and a drying rack for our use. Luisa checked back to see if we had everything we needed. I wish every place had such a caring host as Luisa. I highly recommend the Villa Bianca.

Good location, with great views of the lake facing Menaggio. Walking distance to the main town area of Varenna. Very friendly and helpful host - Luisa, who helped make our stay wonderful. Lots of space for the family, good sized enclosed carpark on-site, well equipped functional kitchen with a washing machine on the property.

Wifi speeds were erratic, which could be a provider problem. The climb back up to the property from the town is steep, so be prepared for that. :)

It looked way better than the pictures! The view from the apartment is stunning. Would definitely come back!
