Villa Bianca

The host was terrific. She brought us to the local grocery store to pick up a few things we needed and then to the train station at the end of the day of our stay.

The experience my wife and I had at Villa Bianca was nothing less than amazing. We were met by Luisa at the Varenna train station who first brought us to a grocery store to purchase some supplies and then drove us to the property. Luisa provided us with a thorough overview of the property and helped orient us to the area. We didn't have a car so walking into Varenna (downhill) and back (uphill) everyday was a bit strenuous for our 69 year old bodies, but was very manageable and actually enjoyable. The views from the property, especially on the 2nd floor balcony and side patio were astonishing. On the final day we were again met by Luisa and her husband who drove us to the train station. This property exceeded our every expectation. Thank you.

The location requires an auto. I am a little older but in good shape. But, the steps cut into the hillside are very rocky and because it was raining, slippery and dangerous. Bring two walking sticks to assist in going up and down. There was an alternate path that was very scenic but still rocky and slippery, need walking sticks. There were no taxis available and you cannot walk in the street up to the villa because it is too narrow. The hostess offered to drive us and her husband drove us into town one morning. Out of three days we were able to get taxi one evening, but taxis go off duty at 8 pm and dinners don't start until 7 pm so you are stuck walking back. The views were lovely and the villa itself was fine I just did not anticipate how difficult the walk into town would be especially in the rain.

Luisa was a wonderful host. She picked us up at the train station, drove us to the property, and then took us to a market to get some food. Beautiful view, nice spot outside to relax.

It is a long hike up hill, but definitely doable and the view is amazing.

No breakfast but the host gave us cake , juice candies and water as a welcome treat.

The place us just near the train station but on a higher area , its good the host fetch us from the station.

Hello, I would like to share a review. The villa is amazing, we arrived later than planned, we had two nights booked for 20-22OCT, because WizzAir delayed the flight by one day, meaning we only had one night left at the property. We arrived on 21OCT by train around 8pm, before that we corresponded all the time with Luisa, who was supposed to let us into the Villa. Knowing our situation and the fact that food stores in Italy open at 8pm, and restaurants need to be booked in advance, and they are open until 9-10pm, Luisa was very reluctant to go out and buy food. We asked her to order pizza and buy wine. Luisa met us at the Varenna train station, at which time a storm started and it started to rain very hard. Luisa took us to a pizzeria, where we chose the pizza we wanted, if it wasn't Luisa, it would have been closed and we would have never eaten. Then Luisa took us to the Villa, bought wine, left a sweet cake for dessert, showed us everything, we are grateful to her. If it wasn't for Luisa, getting to know Italy would be very sad :) Waking up in the morning, the view from the terrace/balcony of the Villa was fabulous, the birds were chirping. It was wonderful. At around 10 o'clock the next day, Luisa picked us up, took us to the train station in Varenna, and we left our luggage at the station for an additional fee, and we were able to enjoy Lake Como very briefly. If it wasn't Luisa, we would have been really disappointed. Her attention and pleasant communication saved our life and left us with a pleasant experience. Thank you Luisa!!!

Because as I mentioned our situation due to the Wizz Air flight being delayed for one day, we immediately informed the representatives of the Villa, as I understood the agency, but they did not give us any discount for the lost money, since our next stop was Milan, we were even considering giving up the overnight stay in Varenna and staying in Milan . The agency did not consider our situation at all and insisted that we have to apply to the airline for compensation. No flexibility in this situation. Also, when we arrived there was a very strong storm, the room was damp and cold, it's good that there were extra blankets, but we were told that heating is an additional fee and was not included in our price.

Quiet, lovely views, indoor and outdoor dining places, washing machine, had every convenience necessary.

Nothing really - it was a steep walk back from the village but that’s just good exercise

The villa itself was beautiful with incredible views over the lake. Our host Luisa was excellent. She contacted me a few days before arrival to find out how and what time we were arriving. On the day of the arrival she met us at the train station and took us to the villa and settled us in giving us helpful tips on visiting key attractions, transport and restaurant recommendations. On departure she met us at the villa and took us to the train station in time for us to get our train. For us the location was great, a little way up out of the centre of Varenna so you had wonderful views of the lake & mountains. However it was about a10 minute walk down hill to Varenna centre and a 20 minute uphill return so if you have walking difficulties you may need to organise transport.

Nothing to dislike, it was perfect.
