The facilities were superb. The washing machine and clothes drying rack came handy as we travelled light, there was washing liquid and fabric softener for us too. Shower gel, shampoo and toilet paper more than enough for the 3 of us for 5 nights. We cooked too, there was even a bag of pasta in the cupboard for us and cereal, cake bars and pasta sauce (we couldn't have those as they were not vegan). Lidl is a 20 minute walk away, I'd recommend shopping there if you are vegan, as local shops don't have vegan products. It was great to have Netflix to watch too. Davide the host was very helpful, met us on time and sent us helpful links to local attractions. He also gave us little gift bags with "Etna dust". The apartment was clean.

For us the location was disappointing. The streets are so filthy that we didn't even want to get out of the apartment and my kids were a bit scared walking around in the area. I experienced poverty when I was young, but the streets of Catania reflect it on a whole new level. It was sad to see all the crumbling buildings and rubbish everywhere. Not the best place for a holiday for us. The price makes up for this, but I wish I would have paid more for an apartment nearer the landmarks. The locals are very friendly though. Another thing that was a bit weird, that the host took photos of our passports. I know they need to do this due to some local law, but to me it seemed scary to just let a stranger have all my details like that.

The flat is in a very very typical Catanian neighborhood, so don't expect the area to be clean. Rather the opposite.

The apartment- I'm impressed by the way this small room is laid out. Each and every details was thorough considered. It offers you everything you need during stay in Catania. From the balcony you can even see Etna Mt. The host was very nice, friendly and helpful. Sent me information where to eat, what to see and where to park on this street. We received some welcome gifts and in the fridge there were cold drinks. It was very nice. Very close to the Castle Ursino- 10 minutes on foot.

The area itself. I would not dare drive there in some bigger car. The streets are narrow and often one-way. Once I could not turn left because there was huge pile of trash.

Davide was really welcoming. The hospitality was excellent. Small gift bags were left on the table to each of us as well as a bottle of wine. Board games and Netflix were a plus for the children. The flat is very cosy and very clean. Approximately 10 minutes walk from the city centre. All shops are 2 minutes away. There is also a free parking under the flat which was really good as the streets of Catania are really narrow.

This place is a real gem. Very interesting and comfortable. There is everything you need for a stay- from all kind of toiletries to snacks and drinks. There is a hair dryer and a washing machine too, if you need it, and the very important parking space. It is about 15 min walk to the Catania tourist centre. There is a little balcony with a view of Etna between the buildings’ rooftops. The neighbourhood is rather interesting but this adds to the charm of the place. The owner is very flexible and helpful, and he has put lots of imagination creating this apartment.I have travelled half of the world and this has become one of my favourite place to stay. The welcome gifts from the owner were very much appreciated too.

The host (Davide) was super helpful and attentive. The room is decorated and feels like home. Location to main tourists attractions is easy by foot

Location could have better public transport links (though this is more of a Catania issue more than anything).

The room was very clean and had everything you could possibly need! Davide waited for us till 01:00 in the morning to help us park and check in. We had a delay in the flight, but luckily the Hertz car rental stayed open too.

Be careful on the staircase in the hallway, some loose tiles.
