Vecchia Perledo 1907

Lovely old fashioned-looking flat but with modern facilities, Perledo is a pretty town with amazing views of the lake and much quieter than Varenna or Bellagio. It feels like you're living in a real Italian town that hasn't changed much in the last century, although there's a restaurant, a shop and a bar very close by. Livio was really welcoming and always quick to reply on whatsapp

Not much - the walk up to the Perledo was very steep but was expected. The shower runs out of hot water fairly quickly but it doesn't take long for the boiler to fill up again

The views from the balcony and other windows are stunningly beautiful.

The church bells starting at 6.30 am so don't bother with an alarm clock. The separate bathroom which although exclusive to the apartment still involves using the stairway so not fully ensuite

Our stay in Vecchia Perledo was great, the apartment is well-equipped, clean and cozy and Perledo is a picturesque small town. Self check-in was very convenient, our flight was delayed, so we didn't have to worry about being too late. Something to keep in mind is that it's located uphill, so climbing back up from Varenna can be a bit challenging, but the views are totally worth it.

We just loved this apartment! The house is located in the small quiet village Perledo overlooking Varenna. The views and the neighbourhood are amazing. We have appreciated the table and chairs just outside our door, ideal for every day breakfast. The room, kitchen and bathroom are spacious and combine modern facilities with antique details and furniture. The apartment is not easy accessible from Varenna by foot (however it's possible). We didn't have have a car so we used local taxis to go back uphill - walking down every day was a nice exercise :)

The apartment makes you immediately feel at home, there's a beautiful view on Perledo from the kitchen window. It has all you need for a long-term stay and is extremely clean. It is more beautiful in reality than the pictures can show. Livio was always available and attentive in case we needed anything. All over Perledo there are picturesque views of the lake, it's far from the tourist crowds and is very peaceful. The path leading down to Varenna offers a beautiful walk, but be prepared that coming back up is a 20-25 minutes walk up the stairs. All together, it's a perfect accommodation if you'd like to stay away from the crowds of Varenna and Bellagio!

difficult to get up to the property from the main town of varenna at night, but we knew that going in!

The location was wonderful because it was local, close to a great restaurant and there's a lovely view of the lake around the corner at the church.

Getting there without a car is sometimes hard, with busses only running certain times/days, but taxis are usually available. Make sure to check which part you're booking, because we thought we had the top part with the lake view, which we didn't and it was a bit disappointing.

Wonderful, authentic Italian villa which is down alleyways of Italian homes/people. Felt like we were living a true Italian experience.

A comfy well appointed apartment with old and new blended perfectly. Fantastic location amongst many other Italian homes, with alleyways going in all directions, lots to explore. Fantastic views of Lake Como from various places in the community of Perledo. There is a bus that will take you down the very steep hill to beautiful Varenna and Lake Como.
