Fantastica Casa Poppo

There is not enough good words to say about this place. It was for a perfect Italian getaway, our casa had everything you need, the view, was comfy, the pool and the goodies they left for us to try from their own farm. But what was top notch was Chiara, she is the best host, makes you feel like family. The place is on top of the mountains so you’ll need a car to get up there but is def worth it 😍 magical place 1000%!

A little hard to get to

Well I’m very disappointed we never met the host at all. Ut just ticks the boxes for wheelchair access: - The toilet is very high even for wheelchair access - the shower floods the bathroom - the mirror is too high to see anything for someone in a wheelchair - had to get help onto the sofa bed by my husband because I could not get my wheelchair close enough on the side to transfer safely, the only way was to get on the bed from the foot of the bed and then get pushed up the bed. The frame has bruised my legs and made them sore. - My husband had to sleep upstairs because the sofa bed is only for one person. Great honeymoon! - The stairs were very steep and my husband had to be careful when he came down. - The mattress upstairs was very uncomfortable, I could hear the springs cracking it was that flimsy. - The lack of access to get to the pool, the restaurant or the wellness centre makes this venue totally inaccessible and disappointing. - the path up to the apartment was way too steep to be safe and not easy with a wheelchair The online descriptions should be more realistic and when you knew I was coming for my honeymoon I would have expected an honest opinion of way to expect. Lucky we had a car and could out of there every day. Not coming back and won’t recommend it.

The lovely hostess walked us up to the cottage and was welcoming and sweet. I loved the authentic Italian kitchens and rock work.

The "trail" to the cottage was beyond dangerous, with no sidewalk, no rails and no lighting. I was honestly afraid for my well being with every trip up to our rental. If you fell to the left, it was probably 30 ft down to the road where you would land. If you fell to the right, it was a ways down with dirt and rock. It was raining and it was a very dangerous trek to the cottage no matter which of the two "trails" you chose. I'm surprised it is even allowed, honestly. The property had amazing potential that had not been tapped. Our "cottage" sat on a high hill, with NO lighting on the very dangerous, steep stairs inside and NO lighting at all, nor outlets, in the room by our bedroom. The kitchen, though authentic, was very old with no updates. The bathroom faucet was loose.

We could cook our own meal as sometimes u just want to eat in! It rained on us but still wonderful!

Could use new pots and wine opener.

We liked the views and location! It was far enough out of town to be peaceful but close enough to walk into town. Although it’s quite a hard walk back up! Everything was clean and comfortable. They offered some small snacks for breakfast including their home made honey which was delicious!

Nothing to complain about, however the room we booked had a lovely balcony but was blocked in the middle by a telegraph pole. Although it was too windy on our stay to make use of the balcony so this wasn’t a problem.

Great views over Lake Como. Excellent check in and helpful advice from the host who responded quickly to questions.

Really lovely and helpful staff, the apartment was a great size and the swimming pool and view were perfect! We loved our stay.
