Johari Suites and Shared Studio Westlands

Location perfect, within walking distance of the Sarit Centre. Set back from the road, so very quiet too. Kitchen well equipped, great hot shower, large comfortable double bed, 24/7 electricity, fast wifi - in fact all that I needed was provided for.

An argument on arrival, not good when travel-fatigued, about payment. Wanted to charge me in Kenyan shillings at a rate not equivalent to the quoted online price in dollars and initially refused to accept that I paid this quoted price in dollars. Despite this, I left on good terms with the housekeeping with a smile, a wave and a "Karibu tena" [welcome again]

The bedsheets was torn The bed cover was dirty and stained The towels were brownish The couch looked like it had seen better days The utensils in the kitchen were broken and the essential ones missing The bathroom - water spilled over and the pipes were all over the place The location is great and was looking to spend the weekend in westlands but the apartment can use some make over

The location was great and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Hadn't realised there was a shared kitchen, which was an added bonus!

One bare overhead light bulb being the only light source once the sun had set was a little depressing.

I really like the hospitality of the host, he was really nice, despite arriving so late he understood me and waited for me. The room was fascinating, very clean and the bed well spread.
