Riga Old Town Souvenir Apartment

Apartment is in the heart of downtown, nearby is nighclub/bar street busy till late hours but noise is not disturbing sleep even with open windows. Kitchen is well equipped, we found all necessary amenities, main bed was very comfortable, sofa-couch was good for children, but would not be very good for adults.

It was bit tricky to find entrance to the apartment - use google maps street view before coming. There were big trash containers with lots of horribly smelly trash downstairs. Smell got to the staircase as well as to the apartment through 2 doors. Very very bad, it really ruined otherwise very good experience. Kitchenware cleanliness was not bad, but questionable - we did re-wash what we used.

We booked the apartment for a one-night stay. The apartment was located in "old Riga" - the historical center of the city. We used the day to see the whole neighbourhood plus a couple of areas nearby. There was a nice Bastejkalna Park with the whole lot of photo spots just around. The apartment was great, nice, and cozy. One could see that it was designed with a purpose in mind - all facilities were in places where you would expect them to be. The host, Alex, was nice, friendly, and helpful. He was available in WhatsApp ready to help with any issues.

The entrance of the building is old and the levels are high. Walking up a few floors can be challenging for an elderly person. However, one needs to keep in mind that this is common to the neighbourhood - the apartment is located right in one of those old buildings that form the old Riga district.

The bathroom needs some work - the toilet bowl was a bit shaky, the bath is quite challenging to get into, even for young and fit people, too many supplies left in the open makes it seem like a store room

The sheets were perhaps a bit uncomfortable ("ruffled/rough material") and the showermechanism was a bit confusing - it was hard to get a good temperature. Nothing too bad though.
