箱寝荘 - Hakoneso

This was our favourite accommodation in the two weeks we spent in Japan. Really spacious, lovely and clean , fantastic kitchen and lounge area.

Needing to pay to use washer/dryer- other accommodation in Japan this was included . Also note 1 shower but this wasn’t an issue for us.

The property looked clean but perhaps it’s dusty because we felt a bit itchy after sleeping on the beds, futons . It’s really quite a steep slope up to get to the property but its overall location is actually convenient as it’s near the train station and amenities.

Great place very well equipped!

A bit of an uphill walk to the property.

Nestled in a residential neighborhood with a bar at the corner of the block, this place is truly a luxury stay. I loved having the whole place to ourselves. Modern construction made the level of comfort 10/10 with no outside noise (and it kept our noise inside). Spacious bedrooms, shower, kitchen and everything was clean and well labeled for our English-speaking group. 10 minute walk to the train station. 10 minute taxi to one of many amazing onsen (day-use spas). Come here to relax. Restaurants nearby are pricey because of the remote location, but smart travelers will know where to go for good eats.

The first time walk to the property is up a steep hill, so I’d recommend a taxi for the arrival with your luggage. No problem taking your luggage back down though. Wheeeee!
