No escalator

Location is very close to the station and the city center. The hosts were very friendly, greeted us personally and helped with our luggages. I recommend it for the price :)

My only con is there's no elevator in case you're carrying a lot of heavy stuff.

It was a rude awakening to have an American style toilet . I got use to the Japanese . Bathroom very small

A spacious and well set up apartment. Close to restaurants and the train station. Nicely set up and innerspring mattress beds. Good table and chairs and heating worked well. Nice little homey touches, hosts have a quirky style. Lawsons just downstairs for supplies. A good base for exploring hakone area.

Quite thin pillows but ok. I found the bed a little soft for my back. “Futon couch” is a folded mattress rather than futon. Bathroom quite small even by Japanese standards and tub extremely small. Simple toilet with no buttons or heated seat (I’ve become soft in the cold!). Very bright exit sign near the door disturbed my sleep until I realised (on the last night) that if you leave the bathroom door open it mostly blocks the light. Fridge too cold and froze our food solid but I’ve let them know and they say they will look at fixing that. A bit of noise some nights from people leaving the bars downstairs but not too bad. Overall not big issues and we liked it.

Convenient for Hakone onsen visits, close to the Odawara train station. Roomy (three twin beds) for one, more than two would have been tight.

The apartment is big enough for two or three people and looks exactly as on pictures. Lawson is right in front of it but in general the neighbourhood is very quiet even though it's just a few minutes from JR train station. Communication with the host and check in process was super easy and well explained. It could be just a bit cheaper but apart from that, we were fully satisfied with this place :)
