Loved it all!

Location clean and comfortable

Although no fault to the owner of the apartment the build’s elevator was out of service for an entire day! We had to use emergency exit stairs 5 floors to get out of the building leaving our fire escape door unlocked to the apartment for the whole day leaving our room unsecured was not cool! Washer worked great but no dryer is just weird! The water for the shower never got more than lukewarm. I’d have the owners ask the wine bar owners next door to please be respectfully of people trying to sleep when they leave their business very late at night!

Location, size of room, and comfy bed

Could have had a dishcloth in the kitchen. Shower/bath was located within kitchen. Noise of traffic light below apartment 24/7.

An amazing property, beautifully presented with a fantastic location. Luxurious bathroom and toilets. Beautiful Park view, a Family mart downstair, an okonomiyaki restaurant next door which is a must try. Easy access to most of Kyoto attraction either walking near Gion, Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, or multiple bus stops nearby, Gion-Shijo Station not far away.

Noise. The apartment is not well noise insulated, we could hear each time the guests from the restaurant finish as the host would thank them and farewell them outside the elevator. The street noise is also an issue. Being at the corner of a major street, the traffic noise can be an issue. This ranges from motorcyclist roaring their engines at the light to sirens from emergency services. Occasionally, we would hear drunken people on the street in odd hours in the morning. Definitely NOT recommended for light sleepers.

Great location next to Maruyama Park.

Many surfaces such as the near the windows and beds were very dusty. I spent 20 minutes wiping down the dust. The window desk was cluttered with unnecessary things. The kitchen lacked a drying up rack. This would be ok if it had a dishwasher. No dish towel hanging in the kitchen. Lack of towel hanging in/near the bathroom. No towel hanging near the toilet sink. The toilet light is sensor activated and you couldn’t disable it so if you used the toilet at night, the light would turn on and it is very bright so it would wake up your partner as the toilet door is right next to the master bed. One of the roller blinds was broken and just left hanging down. Surely this would just be taken down if it couldn’t be fixed. Not left hanging there! There are no acoustic seals to the entry door so you hear all the conversations of the people coming and going to the wine bar that’s right next to you on Level 5. The WORST thing at all is that all the acoustic / weather seals to the windows are broken so you hear ALL the street noise. It’s so bad that you can even make out the conversations of all the people smoking and drinking outside the Family Mart underneath. Sure, the room is big and is in a great location and the master bed is very comfy but none of that matters when the street noise is bad until 3am and starts back up again at 7am so you don’t sleep well. I cannot recommend this place for the price. Better off with a proper hotel on a quieter street.

The property is well maintained and really nice, perfectly set-up for 4 people.

It’s just weird that the shower area is in the kitchen area, but it was lit.
