The Alex Apartments

No staff on site at the Alex Apartments but very friendly and helpful staff at their main St James Apartments complex were very helpful with letting me store my luggage while I waited to check in.

Too many stairs

Comfortable flatlet with everything we needed, excellent location, easy walk to town, the Broadwalk and the gondola. Supermarket right opposite. Good instructions for self check-in.

Footsteps above and on the steps from the duplex flat next door. Parking not readily available and we were lucky to get a space in the street reasonably close.

Location was okay, about a 10 minute walk into town and the waterfront. The apartment was generally clean and modern.

There is no Alex Apartments signage so at first we couldn't find the place. No allocated parking in the underground car park and on street parking is pretty hit and miss. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes not. There are power points in some really dumb places, such as in the kitchen right next to the hotplate element. So you can't have the kettle or toaster plugged in while you're cooking your bacon and eggs on the element. Cookware and plates etc were on an open shelf which was in awkward place if you were cooking, and the microwave was down really low. Overall, I didn't feel the price was justified.

Still haven’t seen my security deposit after 2 weeks and terrible responsiveness. Great place but unfortunately not worth the hassle to stay here.

Property is great. Clean, quite new, plenty of hot water, crockery etc. soft carpet and comfortable beds. Great view.

Terrible check in procedures, still haven’t got my security deposit back yet (a week later), have to turn on data roaming to make a call several times to their support number to pay the deposit then wait for the code details. No signage on building to find the place. there is no reception on site this is just 1 apartment in a larger block that appears to be residential. No option to leave bags anywhere and with the late check in at 4pm (which was clear when booking) made it very inconvenient. One image shows a spa in common area, there is no spa.
