Sycamore Villa, 2 bedroom apartment

Unfortunately we were not there long enough to enjoy what looked like a great bush walk and easy access to town. The apartment was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. We could easily have stayed a week or more, with full facilities to cook and launder.

We were ok with the 12 steps down to the property, would not suit everyone. The toilet was up 2 steps, again suited us and seperate from the bathroom.

Good relaxing surroundings, kitchen facilities sufficient & close to city centre.

The sensor light & fan in bathroom did not work as door was broken. It took about 30 minutes for both light & the fan noise to stop. Need a sensor light at top of external stairs going to the main door active, not just after the first flight of external stairs as they are quite steep to get down especially at night time. The television did not work & there’s no instructions.. There’s also the absence of a folder information on nearby eateries as advised by the host.

Fabulous location, private, quiet and warm, with all the facilities we needed. Loved the quirk of the sloping floor in the bedroom as it reminded me of old homes I have lived in. This place was superb value for money, looks like its had new carpet recently, spotlessly clean, spacious, easy parking on the street out front and the host left us to enjoy our stay without interruption. The stairs to the unit didn't concern us at all and we were amused by the ones leading up to the "throne" (toilet). Perfect place for our visit to Dunedin.

A minor issue - the heat pump sounds like it's coming to the end of its life.

The unit was spacious and well equipped. It was basically clean superficially however some of the shelves in the kitchen were not clean. The laundry was most welcome. The location in terms of proximity to the city centre was good. The second bedroom gave us space in which to rearrange our luggage.

The steps leading to the unit were horrendous for an elderly couple with suitcases. The street parking was difficult at times.

Good location and handy to the city and the event we were attending. Clean and tidy. For long stays, having laundry facilities was a good idea.

Steps down to the entrance were mossy and could be slippery in winter. The sensor light didnt turn on until reaching the lower steps. Steps up to the toilet were also a concern at night. The heat pump either needs replacing or cleaning as didnt heat very well on a cold night even though it was on for several hours while we were out in the evening.

Spacious, comfortable, great to have a full kitchen and laundry very handy,

The step up into the kitchen caught us both out a few times until we got used to it
