VILLA BRATTHOLMEN

We loved the care and attention to details from Marie, the host, it was a real pleasure meeting her, she was very helpful with suggesting things to do,. We’re not experienced kayakers so that was certainly a highlight!!!. The location and the view was wonderful and after a hard day of hiking the sauna was just divine!

There’s not much that needs to be improved, however, we did experience a little problem with the shower (difficulty turning the tap so that the water was not boiling). We also though that the bathroom should be closer to the apartment but this was a very minor point to making this a perfect destination

The location was amazing, absolutely beautiful. We had two ground floor apartments and they were really comfortable and spacious and very well equipped. The sauna & hot tub were fantastic and we sat and ate outside on the little jetty every day. It’s close enough to Bergen Central, we didn’t have a car and the bus leaves every hour outside the property. Once we learned the bus route it was fine, about 45mins, 2 busses. There’s a very well equipped Joker supermarket across the road by the Kai, we were able to buy barbecue food and breakfast pastries. I would love to come back it was really idyllic.

It’s a historic property which is lovely, but also an ongoing project. The larger apartment shower was not really set up and didn’t have a wall attachment so had to be hand held. We shared a large kitchen which was fine, the kitchen inside the apartment wasn’t quite finished. The other apartment is on the ground floor of the main house, there was building work in progress on the tower, which meant builders were working from 7:30am-6:00pm. Which wasn’t ideal, but luckily we are early risers. But it was a little inconvenience for our stay which was almost a perfect 10. I understand with an older property that these works need to be done, but bad timing for us. I’m sure these little things will be finished soon. Also some instructions on the heating, hot water and waste disposal would be useful.

It was poorly clean. The garbage was full from the previous guest & the dishwasher had dirty stuff inside

Lovely place next to sea. Sauna, jacuzzi and all. I think this had more than advertised

There could be some hooks for clothes in bedroom. Now we had to put them on the floor, which naturally was clean

The location is amazing and the people are very friendly and helpful. It’s a really old house with lots of character and feels really cosy. They even made us an Norwegian Christmas dinner, we thought that was a real treat. They still need some work done on the house but thats normal with having an old house, it makes it feel homely.
