Casa do Poço Funchal

We stayed at Casa do Poco for a week. We had our own apartment with outdoor table and chairs. The place was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. There are multiple outdoor areas to relax in and there is a BBQ on site too. We loved the view from the pool area. The apartments are on the grounds of a family home but felt very private. We loved the location. The people in the area were so friendly and we got to know a lot of people as the local festival was on during our stay. Loads of buses to town and some great bars and restaurants around - especially recommend Churrascaria Sao Roque where you get to BBQ your own meat skewers. Definitely recommend this place!

The location was great for us but it is a bit out of town. You'd need to get the bus or a Bolt taxi as it's not walking distance. Local church bells ring every 15 mins from 7am-10pm every day so bring earplugs if you want a lie in!

Location was lovely and peaceful but with several buses to get you to the centre. From there you could join tours or catch interurban buses to other towns and locations. Luiz was very helpful and friendly. Local supermarket, bar and restaurant. I would definitely come back there again. In fact, we want to visit the island again soon as there was so much to do and we only did a fraction of it.

Great landlord - thanks for recommendations and support. Lovely views from the terraces. Perfect bus connection for trips to Funchal. Buzzing atmosphere at Restaurante Miradouro just around the corner.

I stayed with Luiz for thr first few days on Madeira and it was phenomenal. I loved the beautiful views from thr garden overlooking Funchal and the sea. What made this stay so amazing were all the details Luiz gave us with recommandations, maps, bus routes and so on. The bungalow was very comfortable with everything we needed. A comfortable apartment with bedroom, and kitchen/dining room, plus bathroom. Large terrace with sun loungers, overlooking Funchal and the sea, more space up on the roof. The owner welcomed us and gave us lots of info. We didn't have a car, but there is parking space. We used the number 17 bus into the centre of Funchal a lot, roughly every hour from outside the nearby church. There are two bars close by with good food and drink. There's a small supermarket about 10 minutes walk away.

Location and the apartment was well appointed, good transport links with local shops and restaurants.

Beautiful apartment very tastefully furnished and decorated. Luiz and Isabella are very welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts, giving us plenty of good advice and tips. The location is wonderful with beautiful views of Funchal and the coast from the welcoming pool. The bus service to Funchal is excellent. This property oozes character and charm..very highly recommended

We had a fantastic stay. Perfect location to stay in Funchal but not in the hectic downtown area. Bus stop around the corner takes you there in 15 minutes, bakery, great local restaurant and supermarket all near by. The appartment, rooftop terrace, swimmingpool and beautiful view of Funchal were great. The appartment itself has everything you might need. Lots of privacy. Hosts Luiz and Isabel were very nice, Luiz can give great tips for beautiful walks nearby en delicious restaurants. We would definitely stay here again if we return to beautiful Madeira!
