Luiz en Isabel waren enorm vriendelijke en behulpzame hosts! Luiz verwelkomde ons toen we aankwamen, gaf ons de sleutels, liet ons de accommodatie zien en gaf ons wat informatie over de omgeving. Het verblijf (of eigenlijk het alle panden bij het verblijf) zijn prachtig. Er is een fijn zwembad, dakterras, genoeg zitjes overal om te relaxen. Het uitzicht over Funchal is ook mooi. Ons verblijf (een voormalige wateropslag) had alle faciliteiten die je nodig hebt. De locatie is ook een fijne uitvalsbasis voor het maken van wandelingen op Madeira. Sommige gasten noemen de kerkklok die je vaak hoort. Dit klopt, maar wij stoorden ons hier niet aan.

Het enige dat ons echt tegenviel aan het verblijf is de vochtigheid in de voormalige watertoren. Dit is niet iets waar de hosts iets aan kunnen doen. Er is een luchtontvochtiger in het verblijf aanwezig, maar met een verblijf van 5 dagen merkten we dat het voor ons wel echt een te vochtige en muf verblijf was. De ontvochtiger kon hier niet voldoende bij helpen. Daardoor voelde het verblijf voor ons wel wat minder schoon aan. Nogmaals - hier kan denk ik weinig aan gedaan worden, maar als je denkt dat dit je stoort dan zou ik een van de andere twee verblijven van Luiz en Isabel boeken.

A brilliant apartment. Cooking facilities were great. There was a nice terrace with excellent views. The pool was good. Easy to get in to funchal using the bus or bolt taxis. The host was very friendly and attentive. It's a really enjoyable stay !

Décevant sur le plan du confort, de la localisation et de l’expérience globale. Certains points ne correspondaient pas à nos attentes : • Présence d’insectes dans le logement (cafards) • L’emplacement est assez bruyant, avec une église voisine qui sonne toutes les 15 minutes dès 7h du matin. • Problème de confort : l’appartement Cuicui est prévu pour 2 personnes, et le canapé-lit supplémentaire ne permet pas de dormir correctement (matelas trop fin et peu confortable). • L’accès de ce logement est limité : les voyageurs n’ont pas accès à la maison principale, uniquement à leur appartement. • Même si Isabel et Luiz ont été réactifs suite à un problème de toilettes et d’eau débordante, cela nous a empêchés d’utiliser la salle de bains pendant un moment. Il n’est pas possible de jeter la moindre feuille de papier dans les toilettes, ce qui n’est mentionné nulle part. • Enfin, le logement n’est ni vraiment dans le centre ni complètement en pleine nature, ce qui a été un peu décevant.

We enjoyed the pool, the beautiful grounds, the space & the history of the dwelling, having a washing machine and hang-to-dry accessories. We especially enjoyed the company of your cat!

Though we were made aware that ants were prevalent, some prevention may assist with the frequency & number. The presence of mold was detected, specifically in the shower & in the brown wooden sideboard , significantly felt by our mold sensitivity.

Rustic and comfortable beds with a lovely rooftop terrace which is a great place to have breakfast (or any meal) with a view over the city. The owner is knowledgeable about the local area, and there are quick bus links to the city (it's not a walkable distance for going to town but busses are quite regular) .

The pool was not clean while we were there - the water was brownish green. The only reason we booked this place was so we could use the pool and enjoy the view in peace after running a marathon there, but couldn't actually use the pool so that was disappointing. We could have booked somewhere cheaper with a sea view without a pool closer to the city centre. Also it wasn't totally clear on the description but the pool area is communal - there are a few other apartments using the same area. The apartment we stayed in had no view from inside either so be careful what you book.
