HM - OPorto City View

Porto is exceptional, fantastic food, wine, music & site seeing. Very welcoming. The apartment was ideally located within walking distance of the many bars & shops. The apartment was quiet & secure. The apartment was very good value for money & provided every basic need.

Well, at the front of the apartment was some kind of homeless crack den. They did their own thing & didn't bother us but it was alarming. The wardrobes were musky. The loft bedroom was accessed via steep narrow stairs. I couldn't see any form of fire escape. The "city view" was at the rear of the apartment and started by overlooking urban decay collapsed buildings. You'd need to be fully mobile to mange this apartment & location. We dealt with the apartment by employing a sense of humour.

it's a very central location - handy for the station and it's adjacent metro station and the cathedral (and the whole of the old town is compact), handy for the bridge to cross to the other side of town. The balcony is what makes this spotlessly clean property special which sadly we couldn't use as it rained almost constantly. the water always hot and the kitchen was well equipped though we only used the kettle. We received several updates from the host.

The mezzanine bed had a very low ceiling and the stairs up were quite steep and it was rather airless (cured by keeping the windows and door open (they tilt so they don't have to be wide open). I'm not sure who's living next door in the semi-derelict building but there were often slightly dubious people around it.

I have stayed here during my business trip and have provided my company's data via Booking.com and personally to the property for billing. The property issued an invoice with non-existent/invalid Tax number, that I did not provide. Once asked to provide an invoice with valid data, they refused saying that accounting won't do it. So basically the property is avoiding local taxes.

Overall location in historic area.

After we checked in we had a few difficulties and sent several messages to Ana that were ignored for over two days. She seems to shut down and we felt that she didn’t like us. She will deny any wrongdoing but she almost ruined our entire stay. There should be instructions of the operation of devices in the unit. I will never stay at a property again managed by this company.

I absolutely loved this property! The view was AMAZING, had everything needed for a long stay, plenty of space, great deck space. Excellent host response! Surrounded by restaurants, transport and sites but quiet.

I liked the cozy loft bedroom myself - but may be difficult for someone with mobility issues.

up a very steep hill beware if you are walking with luggage! also couldn’t see a hairdryer which would have been useful
