Amazing location with stunning views

Het meest in het oog springend is zonder twijfel het schitterende uitzicht vanaf het balkon. Daarnaast is het appartement zelf ook heerlijk, van alle gemakken voorzien. Mooie, smaakvolle inrichting, heerlijke bedden en schoon sanitair.

Wij hadden zelf geen klachten, het appartement is echter niet erg toegankelijk voor mensen die niet goed ter been zijn, ook in verband met de locatie van het appartement.

From beginning to end, the stay was perfect. Alberto and his son, Manuel are wonderful hosts. They both met us upon our arrival, and Manuel even helped carry a heavy suitcase to the apartment. The place is so unique and special. It’s four levels. Ground level entry has a few chairs within the stone/granite walls. The next level is where we spent a lot of time as it had the kitchen and living/dining area, bathroom and the door to the terrace. The views from the terrace were spectacular! We had perfect weather and were able to play card games, have an afternoon cocktail, or just enjoy quiet time while out there. The next level up in the apartment is the main bedroom and bath, with another garden terrace. And from there was the ladder up to the final level with twin beds. We travelled with two of our young adult daughters and they loved the adventure and charm of the climb to their beds. The hosts left special local treats for us to enjoy and were readily available if we had questions. We will never forget our time at Casa Dona Olga and highly recommend it to others who may appreciate a more unique vacation experience.

Our welcome was warm, friendly and informative. The location and views are amazing with excellent facilities. The apartment is beautifully maintained with keen eye for the historic location. For sunlovers there’s an amazing garden around the apartment which allows for shadow in summer heat and full sunshine when it’s a bit colder. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with exceptional restaurants and coffee places in the vicinity.

Our accommodation in Porto was on the highlight list of our time in the area. The views are stunning from every perch. And there are so many perches to enjoy the views from — beautiful terraces and ample windows offering vistas of the river Duoro, the bridges, and Vila Nova de Gaia just across the bridge. The beds were incredibly comfortable. We loved the special touches including the robes and slippers and the fruit and water/juice. The owner was communicative, allowed early check in, and met us at the property to show us around. He also recommended the bar across the path for wine, snacks, and another amazing view. The location was fabulous. Close to so much, but off the beaten path. Easy access to the footbridge to cross the river, shops, squares, and restaurants.

Finding our way to the property was a bit challenging. The Uber driver tried to drop us at the street by the river, but I refused (and you should, too!...you'll be climbing hundreds of steps with your luggage!) It's not easy to find the paths that cars are able to take to drop you close to the steps that you go down to the property. When we left, we ended up walking a fair bit with our luggage to a location that an uber driver would be easily able to find us and pick us up.
