Shearwaters - Sounds of the sea

Although it’s an apartment of the side road once you enter it feels like you in a different world. It feels safe . The amazing see view it’s a mind blowing. It’s suitable for leisure and work from home too as it’s soo peaceful . Very well maintained and super clean. The bed is comfortable , nice shower and you can cook nice meals as kitchen has all main supplies. You will fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Great location with restaurants and shopping centre near by . Also any help you need they are very quick to reply .

A really nice apartment for a moderate price. Comfortable, clean and in good location. The view from balcony is perfect! We spent every evening watching a beautiful sunset.

The apartment had everything one would need for either a short or long stay. Ironing facilities. Coffee machine. Toaster. English TV channels and Netflix. Excellent wifi. Yes, you CAN sit on the balcony and hear the sea. Maria gave us lots of information, initially to get to the property from the airport* and then to go out and about during our stay. *(Aerobus to Bus Stop #24 - Paragem Vinte Quattro - Pronounced "Parazheng Vinty Quatroo" - from right outside the terminal directly into Funchal and on to Praia Formosa. It's cheaper to buy the return ticket.) This location, although on the edge of Funchal, meant #1 & #2 buses were readily available into the centre from directly outside the building. We always got seats, but folks getting on nearer the centre would have to stand or wait for the next bus. There is also a bus (#48) from this stop all the way up to the gardens at Monte. (White knuckle ride with spectacular views if you sit on the right hand side.) Once again, because we boarded near the beginning of the route, we got seats, while many struggled to stay stood upright as it wound it's way for 25 minutes around all the bends and up and down the steep gradients. Buy the 3 day Giro bus card from a tobacco shop. At around £10.50 It's well worth it. We returned by cable car back down to the promenade near the old town. Loved Madiera and will return.

The view from the balcony was beautiful and Maria was very helpful host and the welcome gift was very nice. The apartment was full equipped and the private parking is a plus.

The bed was uncomfortable for us but that's our preference and the water from the shower flows on the floor out of the bathroom but it was trifles for us because we had a wonderful time in Madeira.

The view is beautiful and the room was very comfy. Private parking is a plus.

There was no modern coffee machine to have decent coffee so I had to go outside.

We had a wonderful time in Shearwaters! Maria had a lot of tips for us and checking in and out was super easy, Maria was also always available for any questions. The apartment is a bit further from the center, which we deliberately chose and therefore very quiet. However, there is a bus stop in front of the door with several buses to the center! Camera de Lobos is nearby and the walk to it along the beach is highly recommended. The apartment itself really has everything you need! Also the pool downstairs in the garden was also lovely. We would love to come back here! :)
