The Back Yard Nest

This place is exceptional! It was spotlessly clean and very well appointed with dishwasher, washing machine, kitchen equipment and coffee machine. Valeria was very helpful and friendly and answered all my queries. The location was quiet but near everything and I was very impressed with the wine, fruit and chocolates on arrival!

Possibly one of the best locations in Lisbon. Right in the heart of Graça which still feels genuinely Portuguese and busy and yet in a very quiet spot. Bright and homely, very comfortable and with a full kitchen, a lovely outdoor area and lots of little thoughtful gestures to make the guest feel even more at home. Warmest recommendations. Neighbourhood: Lots of places to shop for food (be sure to visit Luis and Edgar, the best butcher in Lisbon, I think) and excellent eateries and spots for coffee and drinks. Stunning viewpoints a few minutes walk from the property. The feira da ladra, the main flea market, is every Tuesday and Saturday within easy walking distance.

There is nothing to dislike in my opinion. However, Lisbon is a steep city and Graça is the highest hill, so if you have trouble walking up and downhill you may want to consider another part of the town.

Beautiful quiet and safe apartment with a private patio, fully stocked with everything we needed, in a sweet private enclave within the larger Graca neighborhood. The hosts were highly responsive and very quick to handle all of our requests. Many excellent restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as a supermarket and pharmacy. Easy access to public transit, rideshares, and taxis right around the corner. Two fabulous viewpoints within walking distance, and very close to everything. We would dearly love to return in the future.

The mattress was just a bit harder than I would prefer but my partner said it was great for him. Otherwise, no issues whatsoever and we had an absolutely great stay.

Totally charming, and the hosts went above and beyond, leaving us with a big bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. They also provided detergent in case we wanted to use the washing machine. The place was right next to a bar with live music but we never heard a thing.

There wasn't a ton of hot water (not enough for two people to take medium-to-long showers back to back) but once we realized this we alternated our shower schedules and everything worked out. I think it is pretty standard for a European apartment or home with its own water heater (i.e., not an industrial/hotel water heater).

Our flight was late and we arrived after 11 p.m. Though Valeria gave us a warm welcome and showed us the apartment. We used the little terrace in the back yard for breakfast and a drink.

Great location in a lively part of town. The apartment was well equipped and had everything we needed. We had very friendly support from Valeria, who was always available to help with our needs. We definitely want to come back.

Everything was great. Host was thoughtful. They prepared a fruit basket and a complimentary porto wine. We really appreciate it.
