The Back Yard Nest

A ground-floor apartment, accessed through a metal gate off Rua Josefa Maria. I was welcomed and shown around by Valéria. A big, beautiful bowl of fruit awaited me. There’s also a filter water jug (which I consider a good extra), oil and vinegars. Nice décor and appliances; binder full of helpful information, including where to get a reloadable public-transit card; good WiFi, a TV channel guide and a selection of books in various languages. (“Leave one; take one” policy? I left one.)

I really loved the contact with Tim beforehand and Valeria during our stay. She did everything to help us make our stay more comfortable. They thought about putting wine and fruit on the table. Also in the badroom there were amenities to get you going.

It was my own fault but to get from the metro station to the apartment it’s quit steep so a tough job to get your heavy luggage there ;)

This was a beautifully renovated, spacious and well appointed and equipped, quiet, studio apartment, located in Graca, easy walking distance to local cafes etc and a walk down hill to the sea front. There was a small bathroom and kitchen at back end of the apartment, then comfy bed, screened from a comfortable couch /sofa bed. Air conditioning worked well and there was an outside terrace accessed from the front door. Hosts were great and there were supplies of oil, vinegar, coffee for the coffee machine..all a plus, and special bonus of fruit and wine. Highly appreciated and recommended.

I love the vibe of being a local in this place :) The neighborhood area is so lovely. All things are good for me!

Not that I don’t like but it’s a good to have - the should be a plug next to the bed.
