Villa Formosa

Apartment close to public transport. Nice view from the balcony. Clean rooms.

First of all, not enough power outlets next to sleeping facilities. Pillows horrible to sleep on, couch too soft to use for sleeping. The light was weirdly located in the bedroom. When opening the door, the path to the light was blocked, so you need to climb on the bed or close the door and pass to the light (in the dark). Lamps next to the bed were missing the lampshade so it was blinding. Mixed furniture, at times a bit outdated. Toilet seat was not properly adjusted (photo), power outlet lose in the bathroom. In addition, it needed quite a long time to get warm water (once we didn't have warm water at all for doing the dishes). Also we could hear the neighbors in the house. It's not like an appartment, more like a separated area of the whole house. Finally, the distance to Formosa beach was given as 250m. The nearest access is 25min walking time (1.7km) down the hill. Luckily we haven't been to the appartment too often, only for sleeping and we were lucky that the weather was good all days so we didn't have to stay in too long. Around 100€ per night for this appartment seems too much and I wouldn't book it again for that price.

Good location, big balcony where you can enjoy the breakfast, beautiful view. Free parking on the street.

There were some small ants in the kitchen. There’s no “private” parking, but free public parking is available on the street - either directly in front of the apartment on a bit steep street (it’s Madeira ;) or few meters away on the main street, so no problem at all. We always found a free spot.

The area is absolutely amazing ❤️if you fancy being around nature and waking up to the birds and the trees whilst being within easy reach of getting to Funchal this is the place to choose ❤️🌴☀️

Nothing at all ,all absolutely perfect !!!

Location is superb if you don't want to be in the business of Funchal center. There is a bus stop to Funchal at 100 meters ( every half hour). The host helped us very good the first day so we immediately had all the information we needed. Everthing was very clean, really good bed and a lovely balcony to sit in the sun in the evening

We didn't have any negative experiences of the studio itself . But in the neighbourhood were barking dogs every night

Lovely and quiet place. Got everything that is needed for a stay. I especially like the garden, a lovely opportunity to rest after a long day.

The studio apartment had wonderful views of the ocean as well as a banana farm! The beds and pillows were very comfortable. And the hosts, Maria and Augostinho, were extremely helpful and hospitable. We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend the accommodation.

A true slice of paradise. With all the needed things like well equipped kitchen and washing mas home. And most importantly - amazing terrace with an ocean view to chill out after sightseeing.

Wonderful place to relax. Cozy atmosphere in the apartment. The best view from the balcony. Bus stop by the road. Good parking spaces for cars on the main street. Very close to the highway exit, so we had easy access to anywhere on the island. The place is quiet, but you can quickly get to the center if you want. A few minutes away is the best restaurant we visited in Madeira. After 12 days of exploring the island, we are satisfied that we chose this place as our base. Friendly and very helpful host Maria :)
