An excellent stay! The property was spotless clean, very comfortable and spacious with high quality appliances. Francisco was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making the experience even better. The location was perfect, with easy access to everything we needed Highly recommended – I’d definitely stay here again!

- Excellent location 5 minutes walk from the old town area, waterfront and the cable car, lots of restaurants nearby - Apartment was spacious with 3 true bedrooms - Check in was easy, and they accommodated us graciously when we were late arriving - Secure parking right outside apartment (driving here is not for the faint hearted!) - Nice view from breakfast nook area - Clean

- NO TERRACE AS PICTURED. The description and images of the apartment make it seem as if there is a terrace but there is not. There is only a shared rooftop 3 stories up. The rooftop is unfurnished so there is nowhere to even sit and have a drink to enjoy the view. The view is lovely, but we were extremely disappointed as we chose this apartment solely for the terrace. We also had a bad experience with the owner as a result of this. We asked to leave 1 night early and be refunded for that night (we thought this was a very reasonable compromise) he refused and blamed the problem on booking.com, trying to gaslight us into believing it wasn't a big issue. However once we contacted booking.com directly, they gladly refunded us and shortened the stay - No air conditioning - Very uncomfortable beds, especially in the master room - very uncomfortable couch (we discovered this is because the fold out couch was broken and a piece of wood had been placed under the cushions to stabilize the couch) - No cooking supplies, not even basics like oil or coffee. Very stingy on supplies in general (eg. just 1 dishwasher tab, just 1 washing machine pod)

Our host was there to hand over the keys and give his advice on where to go and what to do. The apartment was generously spaced, with all amenities and very well located close to restaurants and bars. The cable car station is less than a 10-minute walk away.

The mattresses were too soft to our liking.

Absolutely perfect stay in Funchal! This apartment is very spacious and it was an added bonus that there was a laundry machine and a parking spot available. Near lots of restaurants and was a perfect home base for our visit to Madeira to explore the island. The host, Francisco, is excellent at communicating and has some great recommendations as well.
