Great central location with everything you need within walking distance. Welcoming staff and nice to have a welcome gift. Well kitted out kitchen. Large sunny balcony, perfect for al fresco dining.

Missed having sun loungers on the balcony.

The location, on a small side street, gave us a feel for being in the "real" city. Our apartment had a large balcony looking over a park which had a lovely outdoor cafe. A very easy walk to everywhere one might want to go in Funchal. Easy access to transit and tours. Wonderful bakery and supermarket 5 minutes away. Everyone helpful and friendly. Authentic restaurants close by. Hotel 2 minute walk with a pool, deck and bar. They had a small bottle of Madeira wine waiting for us.

excellent location - nice garden square in front, easy walk to attractions and old town (for tavernas). Tastefully decorated. Great balcony (we were in amethyst apartment) ,nice to sit out for breakfast etc.

Nothing we didn't like. However, cooking facilities are a little limited - 2 ring hob and microwave, no oven. We did cook but had to think about what to make. In other respects kitchen well stocked with utensils, plates etc.

Beautiful apartment (Esmeralda) with a large private terrace overlooking a park. There were Carnaval celebrations every night but they ended at 10 PM and the windows were well sound-proofed. Excellent location, walkable to restaurants and all of the sights. Management was very responsive.

Bed was very firm.

Anything ! Great position . We stayed in the Gems apartment ametista . It is very modern beautifully clean and very well equipped . Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful . We had two special meals including a Valentines meal and they were both excellent and very good value . Can’t rate this hotel and apartment highly enough !

The location was excellent, with a view over the Municipal Gardens in the centre of Funchal. It was very quiet, as the roads running at the back and front of the apartment were very narrow and small, so there was very little traffic. it was also very close to the La Vie shopping centre, which has a great supermarket in the basement. The apartment itself was very large and comfortable with a fantastic private terrace overlooking the Gardens. The kitchen area was well-equipped and there was a large dining table. We were given a Welcome pack of a bottle of Madeira wine and a Madeira cake, which was a lovely touch. There is a lift, which was very useful when arriving with luggage.

There was very little. Perhaps our only complaint, if you can call it that, was that we were only given one dishwasher tablet for 6 days. We washed up in the sink, but there was no draining board or draining rack, so we used the dishwasher racks to drain the dishes, which was very effective.
