Porto Douro River Guest House

Almost everything! Great location overlooking the Douro and easy açess to the historic centre; the flat is compact but imaginatively configured and exceptionally well equipped. It worked fantastically well for us for a week's stay. Cristina couldn’t have been a more helpful host.

Early-to-bed light sleepers might have a problem with the sound of music from the cafe below but we slept really well in the comfortable bed.

Liked location right near river. Christina was very helpful information about area or any other questions we had. Great transportation options right at doorstep was very handy. Close to nice grocery store and some restaurants . 20 minute walk to downtown waterfront area. Sitting area quite small but okay for 2 people. Very small outside space but with balcony doors open it feels like inside is your balcony. Other than space at counter no eating space. Nice restaurant downstairs with very friendly staff with very reasonably priced good food.

The apartment is wonderful,small but very cozy, it was perfect for us,as we were just two people, staying for two nights. The location is perfect, right at the riverbed and the view from the balcony is spectacular. It's not in the city center but there is public transportation very close to the apartment. It's an easy walk to the Riviera, beautiful root along the river. There is a supermarket closed by, a restaurant and bar right beside it. The host was super nice and gave as a lot of tips about were to go and what to do in the city. There is a fully equipped kitchen a coffee maker,an espresso machine, toaster etc. We really enjoyed the stay.

We went around Christmas time so it was a little bit cold as there is no heating in the apartment. But our host provided us with a gas- heater which really helped, and lots and lots of blankets, so we managed.

Room was spacious and conveniently located with a nice view of the Douro River.

The bar downstairs was a bit noisy but tolerable…

The host was very responsive and helpful. The accommodation was really nice and the area was a little quieter than the center of Porto. The center of Porto was an easy 15 minute walk from the apartment. Thoroughly recommended.

We were as picked up at the airport by the son of the hostes. He was really kind and even thoug it was very late in the evening he gave us a guided tour of Porto and shared some great tips and trick of what to see and what to skip.

Would have been nice if we could sit on the balcony, but the furniture and bacony was green and full of leaves from the trees.

Nice apartment. Great location, accessible, without being in the busy areas of Porto. Christina had excellent communication, and nothing was too much trouble.

This apartment is the most excellent location. Easy access to public transportation, tram stop in front , hop on bus just a block away..the setting is lovely with a romantic balcony overlooking the River with an ever changing marine activity..colorful and a photographer delight.The apartment is fully equipped with anything you would need. Possibly better equipped than your home! The host has thought of everything you might need. We did not cook in as there is an excellent restaurant below and full deli and bakery a half a block away. Clean, welcoming with a lovely host, you just can’t go wrong!

We liked everything absolutely no complaints

We had a pleasant stay at Porto Douro River Guest House. Some last-minute modifications placed us on the top two floors because of the new restaurant’s music on the ground level. There is no lift. Parking is a problem until maybe after 3 pm. We luckily found a space and never moved the car. We were told there was a parking lot nearby, but we didn’t see it until the next day. Suggest the manager offer more exact directions to the parking lot near the grocery store. Check-in and check-out were simple; however, we think we left two items at the apartment and sent a WhatsApp message but never heard back.
