Golden Star AV by An Island Apart

The location in São Martinho was close to the center of Funchal (2 miles) but not right in the city, which made it a bit more peaceful. Mary was an incredibly helpful host. She responded quickly, was incredibly helpful, and made me feel very welcome. The apartment is beautiful and comfortable. The private parking was safe and convenient. Everything you need for food and shopping is a short walk down the street. I was able to explore the whole island from here in easy day trips. I wish I never had to leave!

There is traffic noise from the street that cannot be avoided. Just bring your earplugs if you need them to sleep. Otherwise, this place is perfect!

The host is very helpful and super friendly. The apartment is well equiped, clean and is located in good area (groceries, bakary nearby). The apartment offers free parking spot and the view from one balcony is really nice.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and close to the main destinations.Mary is amazing and very hospitable.She organised us a transfer and met us and assisted during the entire stay.She is very kind and professional.We really loved the Madeira and the accommodation was great!!!!!

Everything was excellent. The apartment was comfortable, spacious and we'll equipped. Location is great, in a nice neighbourhood, just nearby a shopping centre and few bus stops. Mary (our host) was very nice and easy to reach. She welcomed us with with local wine and sweets and send us home with Madeiran chocolates. There was also a dedicated parking space in the parking building which speared us troubles and money.

The only thing I can think of is that window frames are not quite sound proofing so it may get a bit noisy by the street traffic. However it is bearable.

All about the apartment is very positive - espacious and comfortable. Location is perfect, so well connected to the centre and close to really nice neighbourhood with all you may need at the door step. We felt like home and it has all necessary to have a fantastic stay. And Mary is very helpful with anything you may need.

The place (and guests) would benefit of a side lamp or floor lamp in the living room. The only light in that space is the one on the ceiling and it is strong and cold white. We had to use the kitchen light instead.

The Apartment was bigger than expected and is bigger than it appears on the photos. Everything is very clean and in superb condition. Mary was a lovely host that was always reachable when there was something we needed. We recommend this place 100% and want to come back one day! Parking is perfect. The car is protected inside the building. Elevator, Air Condition, Stove, Washing machine. Everything you need is there. We loved it there!

It was a very big pleasure to spend 7 nights at the Cozy appartment of Mary. A beautiful welcome gift waited for us (+ice in the fridge), and a nice goodbye gift surprised us. The place is very well equiped, easy to cook (every day if needed). A shoping center (Forum) is next to the appartment. Mary was very helpful, 0-24 help any time, if needed. She listed us restaurants as well. I recommend this place to anybody who visits Madeira. Transfer from the airport and to the airport was an option as well.
