Carmo Apartments

Excellent location, close to the train stations, shops, restaurants. The owner very helpful with tips where to go, to visit, to eat etc. To use code to enter the building and apartment is very convenient.

The bathroom need improvement, when you shower is water all over the place not enough shelves or hanging places.

Location - Brilliant Thiago (host) - better than brilliant. Welcomed us to the unit and provided some daily suggestions and ideas. Communication extremely easy and friendly. Unit was great, glazing and shutters kept any possible noise out (at least we didn’t notice any). Wifi, kitchen etc all great

Minor improvements or enhancements 1. Some better pillows 2. While there was plenty of cable tv options, unfortunately Portugal have a separate sports package for their football which was not avail and would have been nice Neither of these detracted greatly and we would stay again regardless

Excellent and vibrant location in the centre of the historic tourist area. Close to supermarket, buses, trams and trains. Old world feel with parquetry floors and windows which opened. The host made daily contact with ideas on activities for our stay. Huge range of TV channels on offer.

Noise from the adjoining apartment came through the connecting door. Better acoustic insulation is needed to prevent conversations and even the use of the hair dryer and shower from next door being fully audible. Street noise was significant. The kitchen appliances were good but there were insufficient items to use them properly e.g. only one saucepan, no colander, no oven mits, wipe cloths, no electric kettle.

The apartment was in a great area of town and close to the subway and lots of restaurants. The apartment was small and basic, but had all the essentials. The kitchen was well equipped.

The bedding is deplorable. The bed pillows are very small and thin. The bed cover is even thinner. The host was willing to address the issue, but we found a duvet in the sofa bed. If you are bothered by noise, this apartment was noisy on the weekends even with the excellent windows. The apartment always seemed musty even if windows were left open. I assume it is because it is an old building

Our host was amazing, so helpful. The apartment was traditional and gorgeous on the outside and modern and well equipped on the inside.

The site is centrally positioned, in close proximity to restaurants, the shopping district, and numerous sightseeing destinations.

The disturbance occasionally arises from stray dogs roaming near Carmo Convent, though it is not a daily occurrence.

Great location and wonderful host. Tiago was very accommodating - helped with a little request right away and it got solved immediately.

Very uncomfortable and dysfunctional bathroom. The shower head is aiming towards the door, which is leaking, causing a big flood on the bathroom floor each time and the only way to avoid it is to hold the shower head in your hand. Also, there was never enough hot water for even one person to take a normal shower, only enough for less than 10 minutes, after that water is cold. I was told that hot water was shared between the kitchen and the bathroom but I didn’t use kitchen water at all and still couldn’t take a normal shower. The host told me it’s the first time that’s happened.
