Luxurious One Bedroom Suite with Balboa Park View

Property was fine.

Difficult entry. Difficult parking situation double charged.

Very spacious apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, we especially liked the microwave:)). Pretty close to the Balboa Park, our favorite part of the city.

A bit dark (not too much sun light), a bit noisy because of the nearby airport. The bathroom sink was clogging. The free parking spots are rare finds, there are only 5 spots and occupied most of the time. The good thing is that the paid parking around the building is free from 6 PM until 8 AM.

Was pretty close to everything.

Everything was loud. Traffic, planes and neighbours. When there's hearing protection next to the bed - you sort of figure where things are going.... There was no oven utensils. So reheating things was pretty much impossible. Beds where pretty lumpy. Water pressure in the shower was non existent and it was fine for warm water in the afternoon but no hot water in the morning, only luke warm. The front gate was impossible to open. Several people got caught on the street for longer periods of time because it didn't work.

A great option for our San Diego stop during our road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway. The hotel borders Balboa Park in an area that feels a bit on the outskirts and isolated, but all in all safe. There are homeless people around, but they are very quiet (unfortunately, a very common sight in major California cities). In any case, the hotel manager - a very friendly and helpful guy who is at the front desk during office hours on weekdays - has set up a very secure and functional keypad entry system. The apartment is very large, clean, tastefully furnished, and equipped with a full kitchen... nicer than the one I have at home! (and I’m not even kidding! :"P ) I can confirm the previous comments about the noise from planes landing (but then again, San Diego's airport is practically right in the middle of the city...!) and the 'footsteps' from guests on the upper floors. Anticipating this, the forward-thinking hotel manager provided earplugs right on the nightstands to help solve the issue. Lastly, regarding parking, there is a convenient deal with an indoor parking garage right next to the hotel for just $20 a day. Alternatively, here is what we did: the area is FULL of metered parking spots that are constantly empty. We used the car during the day, and since parking becomes free from 8 PM to 8 AM, we just paid $2.50 an hour starting at 8 AM - just enough time to get back in the car and explore San Diego and its lovely surroundings!

I love the location! It has so many good places near by!

The only issue we had was the kitchen sink was giving a smell so we had to close it.

Große, geräumige Wohnung – perfekt für zwei Personen und einen kurzen Stopp in San Diego. Viele Orte sind fußläufig erreichbar, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich direkt vor der Tür und auch eine Bushaltestelle ist ganz in der Nähe.

Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb – zu Fuß ist man etwa 20–30 Minuten von den zentralen Spots entfernt, allerdings ist alles gut mit Bus und Bahn erreichbar. Die Sauberkeit könnte insgesamt besser sein, besonders in der Küche – Schränke und Oberflächen wirkten teilweise länger nicht gründlich gereinigt, und auch der Boden hätte besser gewischt werden können. Das Bett war zwar bequem, jedoch waren die Kissen recht hart und die Bettwäsche roch stark nach Chlor.

It is close to gaslamp. About a 20 minute walk. The bed was comfortable. The water stays hot. Sam the manager was helpful with getting us some towels.

Do not stay on the bottom floor. You will hear everything the upstairs neighbors AND THEIR DOGS are doing . Bring ear plugs. You can also smell everything people are cooking in your unit. This is a studio with a wall in between the living to and bedroom. The bedroom Nd bathroom is near the front door. You will hear everyone the neighbors leave and return. EVERY SINGLE TIME. EVEN AT 6 AM TO WALK THE MF DOGS. Bring your own towels. There will only be one set provided. WE HAD TO SHARE TOWELS THE FIRST NIGHT. There is no parking, you can purchase for $20 a night. But it’s limited. We couldn’t move around freely because of the parking situation.

The manager was super helpful and friendly. I appreciated being able to park my car in a garage for a very nominal fee. The unit is roomy.

The unit does not have a view of Balboa Park, and the apartment and street are very noisy. On our second night a loud and aggressive dog kept running across the floor above us, which was loud and disturbing. Guest or tenants come and go all night, also loud. And the area is completely in the flight path of SD Int. Airport.
