Eltos Karoo Stay Guest Farm

The cottage comes equipped with everything you need, including a large indoor braai area. The location is outstanding - set back in the hills, so you don't see or hear the road, it's just you and the hills and the sky. Bonus: ostriches!

The location and venue suited the initial search through Bookings DC, that at a price of R630.00 was what to expect. The owner however contacted me three days prior to arrival and said that there was a mixup with BDC and that the actual price per night was R1200.00 and that I still owed R570. Being so close to travelling I was forced to do this. The facilities do not live up to a tag of R1200 at all and R630 is the fair price tag.

Very quiet Karoo location. Ideal for poet/artist looking to commune with that.

It’s a work in progress, requires inside seating/dining. Not so much self catering as self sufficiency. If using make sure you visit OK grocery in town for all requirements. High clearance vehicle advisable for access. For the price, compares very poorly with every other accommodation we have used on this trip.

Genuine farm stay off the grid, just outside of Laingsburg. Gas stove, gas fridge, gas hot water, solar electricity. Walking and cross country cycling trails.

Price advertised and paid on Booking.com was not accurate and I had to pay extra.
