Winner in the Winelands

Lovely, comfortable and spotlessly clean apartment situated within waking distance of the Wine Tram and local shops and restaurants.

Those uneven steps up to the front door are dangerous. Handrails along the concrete walls each side of the steps would help

We were very happy with our stay. The accommodation was very comfortable, well furnished and well equipped. It's conveniently situated for the wine tram and within walking distance of shops

Some better signage would make it easier to find

This property was everything you need. It was comfy, clean and it had amazing views. It was basically next door to the wine tram and so close to town!

Nothing to do with the property but trying to get my head around load shedding and making sure everything is turned off before hand and setting the alarm.

The location was central for Franschoek, had good security, air conditioning, was very clean and offered all the amenities. The flat was beautifully furnished and decorated and was welcoming. It was also very comfortable in the lounge. We had a problem getting the tv to work and should have called the host but did not as it was not important. We would happily stay again.

The mattress was too hard for me and it would have been nice if the towels had been proper bath towels and a little softer. Also, the steps leading to the flat might prove a little difficult for older persons and young children.

*The apartment was spacious, very well appointed and spotlessly clean. We stayed for 2 nights but I think you could easily stay here longer term. The kitchen in particular had almost everything you could think of. The lounge area was great to relax. The location was great for the wine tram, and it's only a 10 minute stroll to all the restaurants/main street. The complex is gated, so felt secure. *The bedrooms were small but had everything you needed. The bedding was of a good quality, as were the towels that were provided. Good quality shower gels/body lotions were provided. *The aircon and wifi worked very well. Loadshedding meant that the aircon went off for a few hours during planned power cuts, but the hosts had very thoughtfully provided a back-up inverter which meant the wifi didn't go off, and power was always available to charge a phone/put a lamp on. That was a great touch. *The outside decking was a big bonus. It was well equipped with seating area, a BBQ and was a sun trap. You're in a central location so there are other apartments/a neighboring business yard, but that wasn't an issue for us. *The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We were able to drop our luggage off earlier whilst the apartment was being cleaned. We were also offered a late check out, which was kind. Parking was right outside the apartment. This was our fourth time visiting Franschhoek, and we would definitely stay in the apartment again.

*The apartment is on the 1st floor and access is via a relatively steep set of stairs. This wasn't an issue for us, and the listing is very clear on access, to be fair. *A small mobile phone is provided in the apartment and you must take this out with you in the evening in order to gain access through the locked gates (quite an unusual set up we thought). We would have preferred a fob rather than having to take another phone with us, but not the end of the world by any means. We would definitely return.
