The stuff was very friendly and it’s a walking distance from the beach.

It takes a bit long to get your deposit back.

I liked the fact that the property was located right on the beach, Ashleigh and Mbusiswa were very friendly and extremely helpful with each and everything that we needed, they even agreed to accommodate an extra child as we were a family group of 15- great service. Even though we did get a little loud at times, they did not penalise us for any disturbance and we received our full refund😊

I understand that this is a backpackers accommodation but the cleanliness is not up to par. The windows were extremely dirty and the sheets and towels had stains on them - which can be very off-putting. The gas stove has no instructions and we struggled to work the right side burner. The steps to all the other apartments can be quite steep - and small children/ older people might have a difficult time.

1. No hot water on the day before checkout and the morning of check-out. Staff member promised to replace gas cylinder. Either she lied and didn't replace it, or the cold windy weather kept on blowing out the gas flame. So, on a cold day when I needed a shower the most, they decided I shouldn't have any hot water. Saving money at my expense and discomfort! Inhospitable! 2. The after hours number they provided did not work. It says the "The number you have dialled does not exist." So, there was no one to sort out my hot water issue after I came back from watching the Bok game. 3. No tea or coffee provided. Rather teabags and coffee sachets are for sale at reception. Their excuse is that it's a self-catering unit. But, offering a guest tea or coffee is basic hospitality. So, they're being inhospitable for the sake of a profit-maximising effort. 4. They take a R500 breakage deposit. Even though their furniture is very old and their TV screen is cracked i.e. don't bother to fix stuff. 5. Then, they took forever to return my deposit - 4 days. I had to contact them twice asking them to reimburse me. (Greed making them routinely secretly hope guests will forget about their deposits?) 6. Aircon lets off a musty smell. The aircon unit is probably not being serviced regulary to get rid of mould and clean filters. 7. No cupboards to properly hang your clothes.

The relaxed atmosphere. Pretty Cool Runnings kinda vibe. Our host was super friendly. Loved listening to the waves in bed. Oh also I had initially booked a garden-facing cottage thinking it was sea-facing. They were most accommodating and I managed to get Driftwood Cottage. We really appreciated that. A minute's walk to the beach. A bit far from town but I knew that as I made the booking. All in all the place itself was my weekend.
