You have to pay R100 for late check in The room was smelly with malt.The toilet and shower occupy the same space.The tractor that is outside,helping to identify the place is in a dark place which makes impossible to identify the place as the board that identifies the place is written in a small font

Staff was helpful

TV was not working. Staff told me there were rooms still available that had TV but when phoning the owner she insisted that I get given the room that had no TV

The only benefit of this property is that its central. Given how small Uitenhage is, it’s to be expected.

Firstly, the photos on booking.com vs what the “apartments” are in reality is very deceptive - I had to double check that we were at the right place. Although they don’t present themselves as an upscale facility on booking.com by any means, the facilities were considerably different - for the worse - than what was displayed on booking.com. The building is extremely run down, and in a very unsafe looking part of town. Secondly, I had booked 2 apartments - one for my family, and one for my parents who were joining us. Although we had the keys to the second apartment, my parents - who had my 5 year old son with them - had to wait for almost an hour before they were shown the correct room (this at night and in the middle of winter.) Thirdly, the cleanliness of the apartments is absolutely shocking. The showers were visibly dirty and obviously have not been cleaned in some time, as well as the apparent mold. The sinks had a build up of limescale, the stove in the kitchen is full of grease, the floors were filthy, and so the list goes on. Lastly, the availability and interest on of the property manager and their staff. On the first night of our stay, we were without hot water. We were told that 3 apartments run off the same geyser and there was simply no hot water left. We were also unable to open the electric gate due to an issue with the wiring, and were effectively stuck in the apartment until a make shift plan was made to get it open (with live wires exposed and it sparking.) On the last night of our stay, one of the apartments ran out electricity on the prepaid meter. We were told this was due to loadshedding. There is currently no loadshedding in SA. When we checked out this morning, there was still no electricity at the apartment. We were simply told that a request had been sent to “management” to load more electricity., which hadn’t been done some 12 hours after reporting the issue. The property manager and their staff take hours to respond, if they do at all.
