Best Place Ever

Mist beautiful view of Hout bay.

The bed should have been replaced 2 years ago. I was dead the next morning from the most uncomfortable old bed i have ever slept on. This property is stunning but it needs some TLC.

Everything was in their place. Nice bathroom and bedroom

Just needed an extra plug next to bed .

The View.

I refused to stay and left as soon as I could find another place! I felt unsafe as this was not what I expected. This place is situated in Hangberg a Township in Hout Bay and it’s not as “safe” as it is describe to be in the description. I ultimately refused to stay at the property because it was materially different from how it was advertised. The listing described the accommodation as a beachfront studio apartment with sea views and convenient access to local attractions. Unfortunately, my experience was entirely inconsistent with this description, and I believe the property listing is misleading and materially misrepresents both the accommodation and its location. Firstly, the property's description creates the impression that guests will enjoy direct beach access in a safe beachfront environment where they can relax, walk, jog, or participate in outdoor activities. This was not my experience. The property is situated in close proximity to the harbour but in area that is widely known for criminal activity, gang-related issues and significant safety concerns. At no stage prior to booking was I informed of these risks. Based on the listing, I reasonably expected to be able to walk safely to the beach, go for a jog, and enjoy the surrounding area. However, upon arrival, as you drive through the area it became immediately apparent that the area was not suitable for leisurely walks and that doing so could place one's personal safety at risk. I did not feel safe and i would never walk in this area. During the day it might be okay but at night ?! Especially for a self catering place going for super and driving back through a Township at night, absolutely ?! The description omits critical information regarding the actual environment and security concerns in the area. This was the primary reason I chose not to stay at the property. Secondly, the accommodation itself was misrepresented.

Ease of access to the property with clear instructions & lovely deck area with beautiful view.

No TV in the room, no wash basin to clean plates & cutlery after use. Had to use basin where we brushed our teeth which was awkward. No water at all the entire day (Saturday) then tank water was switched on late afternoon and it was brown. Couldn’t brush teeth with it, and there was no bottled water in the room as a courtesy. Sent a message regarding the water, and the response came through quite late, and I couldn’t shower before going to write my exam. Feel that I paid for a second night’s stay for no reason.

Spacious room with stylish furniture; nice coffee and great view to the bay and harbour

Very annoying loud sound, like a horn toot, about once a minute all night long, coming from the water pipes in the bathroom. There was a sharp ridge in one side of a mattress, very uncomfortable and not possible to fix.

The perfect location in Hout Bay View, an ideal way to end off a vacation. The place was superb, with everything thoughtfully in place, and the hosts were truly amazing. The views were outstanding, and the sense of peace there is unmatched. Without a doubt, one of the Best Places Ever to visit in the Cape.

The sudden change to a gloomy cold day on the last day, oh the weather in the Cape is truly something special.
