MacLeod House Guest Cottage

We love visiting the coast with our two daughters atleast once a year and normally book beachfront accommodation. This year for our 10th wedding anniversary my husband and I decided to have some time alone without the kids. A few days at the beach and I decided to switch it up a bit and looked for a place that has a different kind of vibe, nature, peace and tranquility. I stumbled upon macleod guest cottage and was blown away by the beauty and elegance of the pictures, not to mention the remarkable reviews. The pictures does not do this place justice though, you need to experience it for yourself. Upon arrival there was some sherry and chocolates provided, also complimentary wine since it was our anniversary and my bday that day, I found that to be such a thoughtful touch. The cottage is absolutely spotless, no detail was spared in terms of decorating, the kitchen was a dream for me, with everything you would need and appliances, kitchen cutlery and crockery in immaculate condition, nothing was worn out, there was an array of teas and coffee, bottled waters in the fridge and milk. It definitely felt like a 5star experience, to me it felt like we booked into a little castle and felt like such a fairytale. The bed and pillows were so comfortable that we had to spend one afternoon napping. The bathtub is luxurious, the outdoor shower is an experience regardless of weather conditions and as if that was not enouge, a walk in the garden with the sound of the waterfall right below the cottage was just absolutely out of this world. The towels, linen, dishcloths and even liquid soaps etc. were luxury hotel quality. They even had bath robes in the bathroom closet. In all my life I have never experienced accommodation where I can truly rate it 10/10, it exceeded my expectations. The hosts should be so proud of this little gem! Oh and there is a mall and restaurants just a 5minute drive away

There was not a thing I did not like, everything was perfect

I bought breakfast from Woolworths around the corner as breakfast is not served. The unit is self-catering.

The fact that I'm on business in beautiful surroundings and my wife and family are not with me.

Tranquility, beautiful decor and garden

The location was perfect, friendly hosts were a plus. Outdoor shower and indood tub to cater for everyone..

They have the best view. Imagine waking up to the sight and sound of a waterfall. We felt like we were in the garden of Eden. This is by far my best stay I’ve had in the Durban area.
