Farm stay at Lavender Cottage on Haldon Estate

We stayed at Lavender Cottage and were so surprised to see a wood fired hot tub on arrival. This new addition to the cottage really made our stayover so much more relaxing than we could have imagined. The beds were super comfy, kitchen had all the amenities including the thoughtfulness of a 1L Everfresh milk, undercover parking, and excellent wi-fi for the kids. We received a friendly greeting from the host and their friendly dog on arrival and the kids enjoyed playing catch with the dog until it returned home. Location is off the main road making it feel like a true farm stay. Thank you. Will most certainly return should we pass through Bloemfontein in the future.

For an overnight break on the N1 journey, this ticked all the boxes. Comfy beds, lovely shower, Netflix for the kids, milk and coffee for breakfast. Easy to get to. Great rate for the stay.

The gravel road isn’t the best, but thankfully not too long. The one bedroom and bathroom is only accessible from the outside. We couldn’t find the swimming pool.

The host was very friendly, the hot tub was fantastic, the dogs were cute. Inside the bedrooms, it was cozy.

The kitchen was minimally stocked.
