The Cross Keys

Although we were self catering, the owner very generously provided milk and breakfast items. The location was perfect for visiting relations and going to Beamish. Very spacious accomodation and excellent VFM. Being able to have an evening meal in the pub restaurant was an additional bonus. All the staff were friendly and made us fell very welcome

Very welcoming hosts. Spacious apartment, very clean, comfortable, of a high standard and every little detail was thought of, even complimentary food basket and beverages including milk so we did not have to travel. The pub restaurant downstairs was beautiful with an extensive menu and great value, lovely bar with kind and friendly people.

Everything was perfect! No complaints.

The hosts were great. So welcoming. The accommodation was above a pub. There was everything we needed and mow. A few bits in the fridge and snacks too.

A shower in the second bathroom would have made it easier for 9 of us but that didn’t spoil it for us.

Loved everybody of our stay here. It was perfect for getting all the family together for the weekend. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. We ate in the bar which had a great menu and we all enjoyed our food and drinks ..all on all wonderful

We cannot think of anything at all that we didn't like.

We brought breakfast but they had cereal juice , milk, bread etc. It was lovely. Everything which we wasn't expecting was there. Nice touches like the free biscuits. The hoist definitely went the extra mile. Even the pub staff where friendly and helpful, The digs was fantastic so much so we had provisionally booked for next year , If I could I would love to book it over Christmas. Its so refreshing to have a nice place and super hosts Thank Steve and co.

Our stay was for daughters graduation, there were 6 adults and one child, staff told us on arrival that the boiler was broken and they were waiting on a part, this made the stay quite stressful as we had to bathe the 18 month old with water heated from the kettle, the adults took cold showers as one of them was very pregnant this was not ideal, the apartment was lovely except for this one area

Broken boiler, had to park car on Rd Saturday night early on, moved on to car park after pub had shut

The only word to describe this place is PERFECT! We had 7 adults and 2 young children stay in the immaculately clean apartment. We had an enormous surprise to find a welcome pack of fresh food there for us, bread, milk, croissants, scones, honestly loads of stuff! Cleaning products, shower products, spare bedding and fleecy blankets! Fabulous 👏 We also ate downstairs in the pub on the Friday and the Sunday. The staff couldn't be faulted and couldn't have been more welcoming, plus the homemade food was tremendous. It's easy to see why they are regularly fully booked.
